Just curious if it is worth picking up " Man in the iron mask and " we were soldiers" ? I enjoy Zimmer and the media ventures team. I always enjoyed Glennie SMith's work in movies such as the Rock and others. I don't own a cd by Nick only the Rock but that was a collaboration. What do you guys think?

I've always enjoyed "The Man In The Iron Mask." Milan did a re issue that is I think around 11 bucks, worth it."We Were Soldiers" is not bad either, it's been a long time since I've heard it, but I do remember a really good 8-9 minute cue towards the end of the CD I always liked.
I'd say go for it!

If you like The Rock, you'll have a fun time listen to them.

Of course they're worthy. Truly memorable and bold theme in THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK, instantly lovable. As for WE WERE SOLDIERS, it is much more subdued, melancholic and solemn, a la THE THIN RED LINE; if you like this type of slowly building, dramatic string-driven scores, you'll love it.

I don't really like The Man in the Iron Mask. The synths have always sounded... kind of cheesy to me. It also doesn't help that Leonardo Dicaprio is staring at you on the cover...If you want some good Glennie-Smith, I would recommend Atilla (especially if you like Zimmer's Galdiator) or A Sound of Thunder (hard to come by since it's unreleased/promotized, but worth it, IMO).
