This film and score has already been released in Europe, and shall soon follow suit in the US.

I've been hyped about this score since reading this mouth-watering review last month: http://www.musicfromthemovies.com/review.asp?letter=a&offset=120&ID=7087

Recently, James Southall weighed in with a slightly less enthusiastic response: http://www.movie-wave.net/titles/atonement.html

You can listen to sound clips here: http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=679560 http://www.virginmegastores.co.uk/product/795587/Original_Soundtrack__Atonement_(Marianelli)/s.jsf

Here's the trailer, where in the first half you can hear one of the main themes from the score, as well as the typewriter effect that Marianelli has woven into the score: http://www.apple.com/trailers/focus_features/atonement/trailer/

And where can you, ahem, pre-order it here in the US? Ahem?

    Wal-Mart?!

But seriously, I'm looking forward to this score. Marianelli truly let me down with The Brave One but this music early in the trailer is definitely of his ilk. The movie looks really good too, though I think the trailer sells it wrong.

I think Peter is talking about the above movie. Haven't seen it yet nor heard the score. I hope Atonement has a solid score. To be honest, I haven't yet found a Marianelli score that has really excited me.

    Right, Joan.

A Darianelli score from a few years back, the latest on disc (and download direct from MSM):

I wonder how it holds up, especially to those who like him/his music.

Oh, okay. I just saw the other thread here regarding its alternate title. I'll definitely check that bad motha' out.

Thanks Ms. Joan and Mr. K!
