I see Peter has listed 2 new score CDs from Lakeshore Records: SMOKIN' ACES by Clint Mansell and DISTURBIA by Geoff Zannelli.Lakeshore also appears to be doing a score CD for Bennett Salvay's THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR and Emilio Kauderer's CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD.
It's good to see they eventually get around to doing score only CDs in addition to the song ones.
James
P.S. They appear to be doing a song CD for the upcoming soccer movie GRACIE. Maybe they'll add Mark Isham's score to CD later.
Oh...and one more thing. I'm assuming these releases will be on CD and not just iTunes Downloads. Still waiting to see if BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE's score CD shows up.

I've not seen Disturbia yet so I'm not familiar with the music at all, but the score is holding my interest. There are some beefy tracks (three over 7 minutes long), quite an assortment of music. Straight out horror in the first track, suspense and more horror in track seven, a beautiful something sentimental in track two and eight, some pop rock score in track six, etc. A pretty good mix.Smokin' Aces thrives on heavy rock and acoustic guitars, complemented by a wall-of-sound sonic backdrop. As assortment of electronic beats, outright techno and a few orchestral passages blend throughout. The ultimate modern atmospheric rock score.

I ordered both of these from you because A) Disturbia is by Geoff Zannelli and I loved his music in House of D and B) Smokin Aces is an awesome action score by Clint Mansell. Well at least some of the tracks are awesome... I guess a lot of people wanted his Dead Reckoning track. But I am glad the CD is more like a bunch of mixes of tracks because if they were in chronological order, the CD would probably be pretty boring and a lot of the tracks would just kind of stop. Anywho, can't wait!Clayton
NP>Steamboy (the Collapse and Rescue track is the best)

I listened to samples of PEACEFUL WARRIOR and CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD and both are quite good orchestral scores from what I heard.Anyone have these yet?

Just read on the Lakeshore Records Scores MySpace page that these two scores are iTunes only. Bummer.

I'm glad not every label has abandoned score CDs!

This Blades of Glory score is pretty fun. If you like David Newman, Randy Newman, Jerry Goldsmith and John Barry, this big score is for you! Um, but not the Grublet song (funny), nor the Icy Hot Superslide or Human Onion music. But the rest of it, a for-sure winner for big orchestral score fans. The choral stuff near the end is high-end calibre trailer music!
