I was just listening to Terminator off Telarc's The Great Fantasy Adventure AlbumWow what a powerful version of Brad Fiedel's theme utilizing a real orchestra but maintaining the percussive/electronic clanks. I've heard the William Motzing version with an orchestra w/o the electronics (playing those parts on timpani for the most part), but this is sweet. Much better than the original electronic version on synth orchestra pads.
anyone else a fan?

Funny... I was actually giving Terminator 3 a spin this morning. How does Beltrami's orchestrated Terminator theme compare to this?

Never heard it but some have said it sounds 'limp'.

It's a fantastic version of the theme. There is a unique mood to the Fiedel originals, but the CPO performance gets pretty bombastic.Beltrami's arrangement is a little more subdued and less "punchy", in my opinion.

Well I am a huge fan of the theme from the original Fiedel scores. There is a mood created that cannot be topped. The CPO version is good though. It's an interesting way to remake Fiedel's masterpiece. I didn't really like much else on the Terminator albums but ecpecially his theme from the first movie, the main titles is really something.
