It seems like everybody is releasing
    something new every other week.

Anyone think we're going to hit an oversaturation point soon?

I really wanted the karate kid stuff, but funds just don't allow it right now.

Maybe... but with everything, there are plenty of hits and misses. Karate Kid is definitely worth owning. Apparently NEXT is not, according to PK. I'm not sure I'm dissatisfied w/ the constant flow... it's kind of nice. Never a lack of choices, which means less arbitrary spending and more choosing the titles that really count.

This brings me back to the cd-buying state I was in back when Movietunes.com was in session. So much I didn't know what to choose from, so I dabbled, then decided what I liked and didn't like, and chose a focus... then whittled away at my interests. Now, at 25, I own just about everything I could possibly be interested in, with the exception of a constant pool of 100 cds or so.

Best part about it is that I've eliminated virtually all of my commercially released, legally obtained holy grails from the wish list (like Space Camp and Temple of Doom and stuff...)! CDs like Spider-man 3 and The Reaping will be around long enough to pick up casually w/o being in a huge hurry.

    Ramble...ramble...ramble...

The 'worst' is May/June and December... when all the blockbusters and Oscar-hopefuls release their scores...

But I guess all you need to do is compile a list of what's out there, and pick and choose. I'm still buying scores that came out 5 years ago - there's no hurry. Obviously certain must-haves are best enjoyed while the film is still in theatres and fresh in your mind, but that's when you have to be choosy. The more the merrier!

Right now if I never purchased another cd for the rest of my life I would never run out of music to listen to! There is just no way that I could listen to much less afford to purchase all of the new releases coming out. I have to pick and choose very carefully what I want as it seems there is something coming out everyday. At least it is good for me that I have a greater interest in the older golden age releases which at least narrows the field down a bit.

Me too! A constant barrage of releases can be overwhelming and especially when you don't always have the money to spare. It makes my head swim!

Wow! Never thought this would be possible. We should all be glad that we have these releases. Remember back in the day, when it required an act of Congress to get any good score released? Now we're complaining? Sigh...
Yeah, Jeron, "Spacecamp". LOL! Good times.

It runs in streaks, but yes, there are tons of things coming out and so many we want. We just cant get them all at once. Its called restraint. Eventually, though if one is patient, they will get everything they want is some kind of form. I know for me that has been true. J.

I think I'm to the point where I'm going to have to write down a list of what I want and prioritize it somehow. There's just so much out there... It's really great in a way. I don't know how the market can quite support it, but that's not really my problem. Varese's Club seems to be going off on weird tangents, but I guess it's working for them!

Well one way I've found to deal with it is deciding whether or not I like the film a particular score is attached to. If I like the film AND the score, I'll buy the score. Since most modern Hollywood films aren't worth my time that cuts the decision-making process down considerably.

But the amount of choices are still mind-boggling. Not a true complaint. It's just an observation.

There can't be too many releases, just too little money.
