    Hey all,

I have some cd's that I would like to seel and have never sold online before. Ive only bought from Amazon and eBay but never sold. Have any of you seen better results with either one. Would you say that I should do a "lot" of mixed cd's or auction or sell all of them individually?

I hope to sell them all and would love to just do one HUGE (21 cd) lot!!!

    Thanks!

Here's a list if youre interested:

    Dressed to Kill
Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me
    Quatermass and the Pit
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
    Hunt for Red October
    Hudson Hawk
    Face/Off
    Curse of the Cat People
    Congo
    Mission to Mars
    Enterprise
    A Time to Kill
    V (Harnell)
    V - The Final Battle
    Amercican Psycho
    Pet Sematary
    The Mole
    Ghost Story
    Restoration
    Robin Hood (Kamen)
    Batman Beyond

As far as the ebay and amazon thing goes, eh, its mixed. Sometimes you list stuff and it doesn't sell, so its a waste of time and $$ on insertion fees. Amazon is okay, but sometime stuff just sits up there for months.

I used to have more stuff sell on half.com than amazon, but I think I've only had like 3 items sell on half in the past year. More people are buying used from amazon I think, but amazon also takes a bigger commission and charges $0.99 per listing.

Yeah, you use Amazon.com and/or ebay/half.com you are handing lots of money over in fees that you could otherwise be keeping.

If you want to make as much as you possibly can, sell them individually on various marketplaces. But this means dealing with 21 different customers, payments, packages, etc. Lots of time and energy required, for what? $100 bucks or so.

If you want a flat out single transaction and be done with it, I'll take care of you. Lots of people - both from within and outside of our community here - have done this and have been pleased. Get either store credit or cash. It's a great setup for people wanting to unload quickly and with little hassle.

I'll be looking for your email meeg!

    ...and one more thing:

I'll buy the stinky stuff as well as the good stuff. No pickin' and choosin' here, unlike other places!

    Heh!

I don't buy piles of solid stink. I said I'll take the good stuff with the stinky stuff.... there has to be at least some balance, so if you try to sell off the good stuff yourself and then offer the stinky stuff to the used store here, you'll be the one sitting on that stinky stuff in the end, with no way to get rid of it for any kind of return.

Or you can get a whole 25 cents to a dollar for each stinky stuff cd at wherehouse.com or spun.com. Not worth it unless you just need to clear space and don't have free trash pick up.

As far as I know Amazon does not charge any listing fees. They only get $ when the CD sells.

Amazon calls theirs a closing fee. It's $1 (which is more than Ebay's listing fee for average priced CDs). It's more expensive to sell CDs on Amazon than any other marketplace.

Ebay continues to work because people can grossly overcharge for shipping (like $5 to send 1 CD by First Class Mail) and make up for the fees. You don't have that "luxury" with Amazon.com.

Yeah Ryan, they dont charge it if it doesnt sell, but they charge you $0.99 per listing per item that sells.

what I hate about buying off amazon is if you buy multiple items from the same seller, there's no discount on shipping.

Then the bastards still send it media when you pay $10 shipping for 4 cds. They could at least send it priority w/ that kinda $$

I'll vouch for that! Easiest way to get rid of soundtrack stuff you don't want: dump the CDs on Peter. Now if only the store had a pop music section. I had to pack those O'Town CDs under vacuum so the neighbours wouldn't complain...
