This just in at Varese:GRIND HOUSE
Original Motion Picture ScoreMusic Composed by Robert Rodriguez
A New Film from Directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino
the directors of Sin City and Kill Bill!“Grind House” – noun – A downtown movie theater — in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the ’30s and ’40s — known for “grinding out” non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers’ favorite exploitation films. Grind House will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino’s film, Death Proof, is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez’s film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in Planet Terror. Welcome to the grind house — it’ll tear you in two.
Cast: Kurt Russell, Zoe Bell, Rosario Dawson, Jordan Ladd, Rose McGowan, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Marley Shelton, Tracie Thoms, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Freddy Rodriguez, Josh Brolin, Naveen Andrews, Michael Biehn, Stacy Ferguson, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks
The riveting score for Grind House is by Rodriguez himself.
The Weinstein Company opens Grind House on April 6.

THE REAPING
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by John Frizzell
In The Reaping, Hilary Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed, and has since become a world-renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appears to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain what is happening and she must regain her faith to combat the dark forces threatening the community.
John Frizzell’s original score is a grand work for choir and orchestra, capturing the age-old, Biblically-epic, battle of good and evil.
Warner Bros.’ The Reaping opens nationwide on March 30.

Oh damn; the early interviews about Grindhouse, Tarantino made it clear he wanted John Carpenter to help out with the score for his feature, so I was really looking foward to that. But, Rodriguez has surprised me in the past (I've actually been listening to Sin City a lot this week) so maybe the score will deliver. The movie looks tripe however.

Once again, the regular releases prove to me much more interesting than the limited stuff that costs more money.Though, I don't think I'll pick up any of these. Cool that McKenzie gets a wide CD release.
