There are one or two interesting titles coming from Lakeshore Records:

    James

CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER : Score

Original score from Shigeru Umebayashi. A period high drama that concerns the volatile balance of power between the King and the Queen and his three sons, which entails betrayal, deceit and passion--pitting the King against Queen and father against sons.

SLEEPER CELL (AMERICAN TERROR) : Score

American Terror Featuring original score from Paul Haslinger. Sleeper Cell: American Terror, a taut, fast-paced account of terrorists in our midst, is as exciting as the original and, as the Saudi Arabian arrests demonstrated, every bit as relevant. The sequel broadens the scope of the story. This time, there's more than a sly game of preventing a deadly attack and uncovering terrorist commanders. There's also a closer examination of tangled international alliances and the methods used to interrogate prisoners.

    THE LAST KISS: Score

Original score from Michael Penn featured as a single track,14 minute long suite. Itunes Exclusive.

    DRIVING LESSONS : Soundtrack

Featuring music from Sufjan Stevens, Ben Folds, Nick Drake and original score from John Renbourn and Clive Carroll. Shy and downtrodden Ben dreads yet another dreary school holiday coming around. While the other kids are out having fun, Ben spends these precious few weeks attending bible classes, having driving lessons with his mother and helping out at a local old people's home. However, Ben's world is turned upside down when he's employed by an eccentric retired actress Evie. Vulgar, dignified and childish all at once, she certainly is not the kind of person Ben expected when searching through the job listings in the stuffy parish magazine, "Hello Jesus". Evie's unconventional and often downright bizarre behavior challenges Ben's beliefs, and forces him to confront the very idea of who he wants to be. Then, when it seems that his new-found freedom is about to be taken away, Ben has to suddenly choose; should he continue to conform, or break out and live his life as his own man?

    THE DEAD GIRL : Soundtrack

Featuring original score from Adam Gorgoni and original exclusive song from the trailer "Something Real" from Renee Stahl. The murdered body of a young woman named Krista is found by Arden, a lonesome caretaker living with her irascible mother. This leads to Leah, a forensics graduate student whose sister went missing as a child, stumbling upon possible closure when Krista's body appears on her gurney. The story continues with Ruth, who in the midst of a long and intense love/hate relationship with her husband, discovers a disturbing connection between her husband and Krista's murder. Finally, Melora is a mother searching for answers about her runaway daughter Krista's troubled life and finds help in her quest from another troubled young woman.

Just listened to Curse of the Golden Flower.

A passionate score, very interesting. Cool percussion as expected. Lots of vocal work, not expected. There's a good deal of play with solo female vocal against a multitude of medieval/barbaric male vocals.

I listened with interest all the way through.
