PARTITION
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Brian Tyler
Partition is an epic romantic story of two people caught in the events that divided India and Pakistan in 1949 – the partition. Determined to leave the ravages of war behind, Gian Singh (Jimi Mistry), resigns from the British Indian Army to live a quiet life in his Sikh village in Northern India. His world is soon thrown into violent turmoil when he suddenly finds himself responsible for the life of a 17-year-old girl (Kristin Kreuk) who is traumatized by a vicious attack that separates her from her Muslim family. Slowly, resisting all the taboos, Gian finds himself falling in love with the vulnerable and beautiful Naseem as he tries to locate her remaining family. Facing scandal and derision from the villagers Gian and Naseem marry. Five years pass and the proud parents of a daughter seem finally free from the ghosts of the past – even the villagers have come to accept the happy family.
The past however returns with a vengeance when Margaret Sitwell (Neve Campbell) arrives with news of Naseem’s relatives in Pakistan. This should be good news, but it sets off a series of events which separate Naseem from her husband and daughter. Having struggled so hard to find happiness Gian cannot let it go and risks all to reunite his family.
At a time when nations and faiths are divided, Partition is a breathtaking and moving story set at the dawn of a new world.
The powerful film features a mesmerizingly beautiful score by Brian Tyler, incorporating many ethnic instruments into the exotic tapestry of his orchestration. Lushly romantic and evocative, this may be Tyler’s best score and album yet!
The film begins an international roll-out in Canada on February 2.

I never, never thought that Clinton's CLEANER score would get a release. Not that I've heard it; it's just that you wouldn't think a comedy like this would get a score release (the trailer looked good, FWIW).

From: http://www.briantyler.com/quote:
Varese Sarabande will release Brian's score for Partition on January 30, 2007 (with a running time of 78:17). Of Brian's score, Partition director Vic Sarin writes:"If a picture can tell a thousand words, one music note can evoke a thousand emotions. What struck me when I first heard the music that Brian Tyler had composed for Partition was how beautifully it captured and embodied the emotion of the movie. When music and picture come together in this way I feel true movie magic is created." (Full notes to appear in the CD booklet)
Partition will be released to theatres in Canada on February 2, 2007.
