Just being curious as to whose "squiggly lines" (quoth Goldsmith) you've managed to get. It's also quite interesting to see those of you who've been into soundtrack for some decades with the occasional Rózsa or Mancini autograph...

    My small treasure trove includes:

Jerry Goldsmith (on a PR photo)
Don Davis (on Warriors of Virtue)
Bruce Broughton (on The Boy Who Could Fly, complete with a small note in German!)
    Christopher Gunning (on Screen Extravaganza)
Patrick Doyle (on Dead Again...or how to write in the smallest space available with the thickest black pen available! )
David Arnold (on Tomorrow Never Dies...with a note warning me against Internet message boards!)
Michael Giacchino (on both Medal of Honor and MoH-Underground)
Howard Shore (on/in FotR Special Edition)
John Williams (on Empire of the Sun...with a small sketch of the 5-note motif from CE3K!)

I'll be trying my luck once again in the coming weeks...

    CK

I'm sure there's been a thread about this before?

All the autographs I have were got by me personally.

John Williams - inside the 2 LP Superman gate-fold

    John Barry - Octopussy CD

Ron Goodwin - Battle of Britain LP

Ryuichi Sakamoto - on the Last Emperor CD....and the coolest signature of them all, written in Japanese.

Michael Nyman - The Kiss CD, a non-score work

John Addison - Filmharmonic 1980 program souveneer

Ennio Morricone - The Untouchables CD

    Jerry Goldsmith - Chinatown CD

Basil Poledouris - on the John Barry concert program souveneer....well, how was I to know he'd be at the concert?

Andre Previn - on his recording of Symphony Antartica LP.

Elmer Bernstein (Guitar Concerto CD - from Buysoundtrax)
Danny Elfman (Tim Burton's Corpse Bride CD - from Tower Records)
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: TMP original CD release/POTA Varese expanded release - obtained in-person, but sadly not personalized)
    Erich Kunzel (Hollywood's Greatest Hits I & II CDs - obtained in-person)
Mark McKenzie (Con Passione CD - personalized)
Mark Shaiman (Autographed photo - personalized)
Howard Shore (Silence of the Lambs CD/LOTR Symphony concert poster - w/Sissel & Doug Adams - personalized)
John Williams (Best of JW&TBP/Hook - personalized)

I also found a "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" score CD in a Detroit used bin that had been signed by Kevin Smith for some reason.

I've never been much for autographed copies of things but I've been lucky enough to spot a signed copy of Dave Grusin's Mulholland Falls at an old trade-in shop.

Long story short, I didn't buy it because at the time (maybe four years ago) I didn't know anything about Grusin so it wasn't important. I was a sucker back then.

Not much. Goldsmith's autograph on STTMP ("semi-personal"... they collected covers for him to sign during his last two London concerts, but he signed them alone and we got the signed covers back the next day). Also a signed Goldsmith concert program from Detroit (thanks to Mark Hatfield) and a personalised Nyman Piano (thanks to Timmer).

I don't do autographs but I did do a story on two Goldsmith concerts back in 89 for the Goldsmith Society and chatted with him for several minutes on the second one and he was nice enough to let me snap his picture for the journal, of which I have the original.

I have a really rare one, it is a beautiful newspaper, full size picture of An American Tail and James Horner wrote a lengthy paragraph to a fellow named Jason, around December of 1985, I think it was, so I got a rare newspaper page, plus a LENGTHY paragraph with Horner's autograph. I also have Bill Conti and Marvin Hamilisch and I think a couple other small ones, David Shire signed my Return to Oz.

Living here in the backwaters of the USA, I don't get a chance to see many composers. The ones I have gotten were thanks to friends.

I think I've got the following..

Far From Heaven - autographed by Elmer Bernstein

Superman Returns - autographed by Jon Ottman

Serenity - Autographed by David Newman

Battlestar Galactica Miniseries - Autographed by Richard Gibbs.

Otherwise I've got some autographs by non-composers on books, DVD's etc.

I've got a couple of scores signed by John Ottman.

Would be cool if I was able to get one of my Star Wars scores signed by Williams but I doubt that would happen any time soon.

    Yikes, Jeron! That's a lot.

I only have TWO autograhps - a poster of MODERN VAMPIRES with both Richard and Danny Elfman's signatures (sent to me as a thank you for voting on the film on imdb) and a (standard?) picture of John Williams with an autograph. This was given to me by some "autograph hunter" here in Norway after I became a TV celebrity of sorts and he noticed my interest in film music.

Wow, lots of spilled ink on precious inserts! I have my share, likely none of it personal (if you have sumthin' to say to me, you say it to my face, right!). I think Broughton and Debney insisted on personalizing against my wishes....

The favorite though, is Jerry Goldsmith's Oscar poster signed to Dr. Toons. Show's the Maestro's sense of humor - some of you will get a chuckle out of this if you knew the whoabouts of Dr. Toons. This might be the only Goldsmith signature to a figment of imagination (handwritten, anyway... of course, he's spilled tons of ink writing music notes to plenty of figments!). Occured after the last take of recording the Oscar fanfare a few years ago. I think Robert Townson was even in line for that one, it was fun.

If there were one soundtrack that you could get an autograph on... what would it be?

For me, I'd love to have an autographed "Conan The Barbarian" by Basil Poledouris. Poledouris is at the top of my favorites list and Conan is what really put him on the map. Another choice for me would be David Arnold's "Indepedence Day" since that's the score that got me into soundtracks in the first place!

I either met the composers in person (Arnold, Shore, Gunning) or simply wrote letters. Worked every time so far.

I was not into autographs myself, but very young did get Jock Mahoney's(RAnge Rider TV show, TArzan and character in B films). I asked him about playing with the Three Stooges when he was young. Saw him at the Downtown Drive IN in Ft Worth in 1963 when he was touring with the film Tarzan Goes to India. He was 45 at the time. He responded to my question with "I'd rather not talk about that." He played the stumbling cowboy in Stooges episodes.

Attended two Goldsmith concerts in 1989 in Ft Worth and in Springfield, Mo. At the second one I spoke with him for a few mins and took a pic for the Goldsmtih Society and wrote up the concerts for them. We had a nice little chat there. It was a honor to meet and speak with him.

Also met Steve Brodie B actor in westerns once and got his autograph at the Stock SHow in Ft. Worth. And also Rex Allen, the western star.
