This is a nice bunch.Goldsmith's will sell out first, obviously a given. Alcatraz should go next, cool to see this on CD.
Glad to see something I don't even recognize... it's worth paying money for something I know won't sound like everything else released these days! Did I just blaspheme???!

Um, I hope I'm not the only one who noticed the description of Runaway:quote:
Runaway is very mush a score orchestrated for synthesizers.Mush?

I guess that's what you get for posting the titles so late at night....

Yes, and it's only logical this might be the same phenomenon that causes customers to put in "55" copies instead of "5" of any of these when ordering. Make people order when they are at their worst. No wonder these sell out so darned fast. We're getting to the bottom of this now.

Runaway will be gone in a few hours, if not already. Seven Cities is sold out already... that's very impressive. Careful is almost gone. Wowee.

Some people do seriously want it that bad because it is Goldsmith. I doubt they even listened to the clips.Others are buying because of the Inchon fiasco and aftermath and don't want to take a chance on missing the next big thing. Some are thinking they are getting the next Inchon. Boy are they in for a suprise.
The scalpers are buying because they can.
As happy as I am to see a Friedhofer score sell like this, it's mostly fake sales. These are sales from people who don't want to miss out and know they can sell it for a profit, if only a small one, if they don't like and scalpers.

I don't get it either. I don't think I'd even be able to listen to Runaway once in its entirety. (It's sold out now, by the way.) The Friedhofer CD is the only sellout that actually makes sense to me based on musical content.
I think the problem is that there are 500-750 collectors out that must have every title. It's the only thing that makes sense to me, with the remainder being bought by stores for resale. In this market, it seems like Varese could take every mag-wowy piece of magnetic film that was left on the cutting room floor after their Fox releases, sew them up into a 1k limited edition 4-CD set, and they'd gross an instant $60,000.

The speculators may soon find how few people Friedhofer actually appeals to, when their multiple copies go begging at inflated prices.

1- A Friedhofer score selling out, for whatever reason, might even marginally increase the possibility of future Friedhofer releases.2- Chances are the speculators probably got burned and this Friedhofer score most likely will gather dust like that old Thomas Newman Club CD that Varese Sarabande couldn't get rid of. I have a hard time imagining the existance of 1000 Friedhofer customers around the world.

They all appealed to me, but I've been on a really strict budget as of late. Probably going to miss out on all of them save for Lucas and Birdman. I wouldn't mind getting (or tracking down, at this point) Runaway, though I'd like to hear some more samples. May be a touch too eclectic for me

Since there are more copies of Birdman, it will last awhile. The lesser numbered ones go first.I have a nice tape of the old LP from long ago, but will get that Birdman CD eventually.
I have gotten several of the Bernsteins from the Club. One of my favs is the Cast a Giant Shadow and like the Scalphunters too.
