ok, this is supposed to be a "fun thread"...
I would like to know what good "deals" (good soundtrack for less money) you have recently made.
I don't mean a montly overview (like the other thread that is still running) but a more up-to-date one.
    Including used CDs, of course.
(Price in Euro or $ and without shipping costs)
    So I start:
Just won the Auction of "Denice the Menace" for 2,50 Euro :-)

Being a bargain shopper of film music most of my life I have hundreds like this. The latest was a great find of a copy of the Sweet Smell of Success by Bernstein with that great opening cue "The Street". Got it for 3 dollars.

I used to find tons and tons of LPs at Music Exchange back in mid 80s for 3-6 dollars each. All kinds of rare stuff.

CDs-I find these all the time too. Anywhere from 2 dollars on up.

In my collection of over 800 film music CDs I have many, many for under 10.

In my 1300+ LPs I have hundreds for 5 dollars or so when they were selling for much more than that on the market.

So forth and so forth. Being more patient than many, I waited on getting many until I found them cheap. I have gotten just about everything I wanted that way and the rest at normal prices or discounted in some local stores. Very few in my collection at the prices that many pay in auctions or on ebay and so forth.

I found a rare Newman not too long ago on line here in New York. Very rare CD for 15 dollars. It was selling for 40 or more on ebay.

Respect! To be honest I don't even know some of the soundtracks you mentioned in your post.
For me, I am collecting soundtracks since I was 18 (and I am now 23) and my budget was VERY small (like 15 $ a month for CDs) until I got 21. Now, as a trainee, I still have do do my math but I have around 40 - 50 $ a month for soundtracks. I have around 500 Soundtrack (CDs) now, so I am out of your league...
But when I get rich (hopefully) I will buy all those precious little CDs (including this damn expensive original Spacecamp) *hehe*

My collection goes back to 1962. So you see being patient is a slow process too. Although, the CDs have been since 1988. I was on a very limited budget too for much of it because of family and other obligations. Working three jobs during some of those years and so on.

Compared to some folks around here I'm a embryo on the movie music collection scale!

Normally when I go on a cd buying spree I go to my favorite local music store. I used to be able to get the albums I wanted for $3.99 or $4.99 but everything's gone waaay up! Usually if I'm willing to be patient and hunt every few days in their used section (which is pretty big) I can usually still find cds for less than $5.00.

It's getting harder and harder to find those though.

I got Conan the Barbarian (Extended Varese Edition) for $30 at amazon. Pretty good deal considering the next lowest price was around $40 at amazon and on ebay.

    hm
until now I didn't even know that there was an extenden version of Conan (I only have the Milan Version) but now I checked it up.

BTW: does somebody has a clue how much the "Powder" soundtrack from Goldsmith is worth?
So that I don't pay too much, if I am going to buy it

Few years ago, found batteries not included at a discount bin for $5.99, I almost **** myself.

Recently found Curley Sue at a used store for $4.99.

Found original Polydor Cocoon on amazon, used under another Cocoon title for $18.00.

All 3 97' Special Edition Original Star Wars Trilogy soundtracks for $33.00 shipped from ebay. Sealed and in an actual box and yes they are the ones with the laser etched picture CD's. I'll definitely be keeping these sealed since I have the 2004 versions.

I think that's a pretty damn good price considering these are OOP and almost hard to get ahold of now.
