Just read this on his website. Not really unexpected but still good news if you ask me. I liked his score for the original.

Second only to Catwoman, Fastastic Four has to be the worst superhero movie of the new generation.
Why do they even make a sequel?

There's a logo that plays before Fantastic Four that begins with an amazing - and well known - fanfare by Alfred Newman. The logo has changed very little throughout the years, but it remains iconic. Somewhere along the line, this logo came under the ownership of News Corporation and since then, their quality of film has been lacking incredibly. I think it has something to do with money; I can't be too sure though.

Usually I'm not someone who is being influenced by other people who say that a certain film is bad. When I heard that FF was a really bad film, I didn't believe it because sometimes people have their expectations too high.

But when I saw FF, I couldn't believe how u-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-y poor it really was. The scenes with Johnny Storm aka Human Torch, now THEY were truly retarded.

I heard it's going to be called Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. Since Silver Surfer is in the sequel.

I have to admit FF was a huge guilty pleasure for me. I can't argue for it being a good movie but I was smiling through a lot of it and getting a charge out of the fact that I was watching a Fantastic Four movie. Ioan Gruffaaud (that's my lame attempt at spelling his name) was weak but at least he had a lower jaw; Jessica Alba was miscast but hot; and I thought Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm were done just right. I hate "extreme" anything but the original Johnny Storm was a Sixties surfer and a blowhard, so if you're going to update that character for a young, contemporary audience that was a smart way to do it. I liked Ottman's theme and actually most of the worst stuff in the movie added to the entertainment value--you had to laugh at some of the inane plotting and continuity. It was goofy fun and sort of a relief after all these brooding, extra-dark comic book movies. I like that we've made these things more sophisticated but sometimes they just drain all the fun out of them--I wanted to love Superman Returns but so much of it just laid there. So yes, count me as the one person in the nation actually looking forward to FF 2.

I try to look at it from an optimistic angle. Ottman's score will be good. I liked his music to FF4.

You know, I heard how awful this movie was and I didn't see it until it came on cable and I actually enjoyed it very much.

So yeah, put me in with Jeff Bond as enjoying both film and score.
