The music for this television-like ad that won't appear on tv is... well...

    Check it out

Wow. I thought for a moment that it might be a MadTV skit, but then the commercial never did acknowledge just how creepy the whole thing was--through reaction or anything. I may have nightmares about butterflies swarming out of my mouth.

Yeah, no kidding. It's almost like it's a ripoff of a Will Ferrell skit on SNL even, but it's legit Folgers stuff!

But I have to ask myself why I thought this was even television-like? There's nothing tv-like about it, NOTHING! Maybe the sunshine hasn't hit me yet....

Creepy indeed!! There were hints of everything from THE FOG to THE SIXTH SENSE going on here.

By the way, it would be interesting to hear this commercial rescored with some genuine horror music! This really proves how effective film music can be.

There's something very disturbing about that.

It also joins those other commercials that might end up doing the exact opposite of what they're meant to.

After this, I'll think twice before buying Folgers coffee.

It's like that Swiss tourism commercial. Shows a bunch of good-looking men alone practicing outdoor activities with music playing in the background. End of commercial, voiceover says something like "Ladies, tired of football? Come to Switzerland to see how real men can treat you." Which is nice given that these poor women's husbands are stuck yelling in front of the TV because the referee just made a call instead of taking care of their ladies.

Except the last scene of the commercial, right where the narration is, shows a guy milking a cow.
Now there's a great message. "Ladies, you ain't nothin' more than cows. Come to Switzerland, where real men can milk ya good".

I prefer one of those Austrian tourism commercials from a few years ago, which actually had semi-original music by Philip Glass (an excerpt from the second movement of his Tirol Concerto).
