This is a big one for me. I'm really anticipating this score; the movie, eh, not so much. Looks - unfortunately - like typical genre fare with a great cast. But I'm confident Beltrami will deliver with this score.

Except for the inevitable trademarked Beltrami slashing-strings noise.

To be honest Dink, when I first got into Beltrami's scores (shortly after Blade II I always identified that there was one element that I found distracting in his scores. When Flight of the Phoenix hit a few years back I finally identified the problem as those "slashing strings noise" (as you put it) and since then it hasn't bothered me and Beltrami has grown to be my favorite and most admired new composer. He has yet to disappoint me (although he almost did with Three Buriels, but I thought it was original enough to have merit).[Message edited by nuts_score on 05-17-2006]

This new Omen pic looks really boring to me. How many remakes and sequels are we going to have this year? LOL.They are definitely running out of ideas to have to rehash the same things over and over.

What makes the big remakes of this year worse than the big remakes of last year - Superman Returns and The Omen vs Batman Begins and War of the Worlds - is that this year's bunch seem to be LITERALLY re-making the films of 20 years ago (with Superman Returns involving large chunks of the plot of Superman II).

They just started the franchise over. But was not a remake at all.

I'm glad Beltrami didn't come up with lame track title puns like with the Underworld: Evolution album. Not that track titles are the most important part of a music album, but they do factor in for me in their own way.

oh well...

You don't know, Superman Returns might start the franchise over again with a not 100% original plot. We all know that there will be sequels and whatnot to it since it will be huge.
As for The Omen, I really have no desire to see this movie. But for some reason, I have a feeling they will milk this and try to pump out a few more sequels for it.
