Discovering yet another new exciting film composer, independent soundtrack label MovieScore Media announces the release of Caine Davidson's first feature film score: An American Haunting, written for the horror film written and directed by Courtney Solomon and starring Donald Sutherland, Sissy Spacek, James D'Arcy and Rachel Hurd-Wood.

Performed by the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, the music for An American Haunting is a spine-chilling listening experience not for the faint of heart. Contrasting atmospheric orchestral writing with aggressive, modernist outbursts of symphonic violence, Caine Davidson makes one of the most impressive feature film scoring debuts in recent time.

In their review of the film, The Hollywood Reporter singled out Caine Davidson's score as one of the film's "pulse-quickening elements". Ain't It Cool News wrote that it is "an excellent score", and genre magazine Fangoria noted that the film boats a "first-rate contribution" by Caine Davidson. Screen It described the music as "scary, suspenseful and ominous", and Staci Wilson at About.com wrote in her review that "one of the most effective things about An American Haunting is its score and sound design". According to The Cincinnati Post, "Caine Davidson's unsettling score hits the right notes" and New York Cool thought that the music is "electrifying".

Born in Hong Kong to English parents, Caine Davidson resides in the USA and is represented by Linda Kordek at The Agency Group.

An American Haunting opened in US cinemas on May 5 and in the UK on April 14.

An American Haunting: Original Motion Picture Score will be available exclusively from iTunes on May 16, 2006, with wider digital distribution to follow.
