Here's what Harry Knowles from "Ain't It Cool News" has to say about the score to MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3.

    ---------------------
My fave crew choice? Michael Giacchino, who did the score for the film. You may remember his brilliant score for THE INCREDIBLES. Here, he gives the scenes emotion, urgency and excitement – just as he did there, but with a more elegant flair.
    ---------------------

I must admit that I am excited about this score. As far as the movie goes, the trailers weren't that interesting, but Harry's review does make me curious again.

Well, Knowles is infamously known for absolutely gushing over the few movies that he posts reviews for. His review made the movie seem absolutely incredible; but it failed to mention any negative aspects of any part of the film, something which worries me. He's also known to post glowing reviews for close friends: like Guillermo Del Toro (for Blade II, and I believe I love that movie more than Harry does) and Eli Roth for s**t like Cabin Fever and Hostel (which makes me second guess Harry often). Apparently, Harry just did an interview with M:i: III's director, J.J. Abrams, for Penthouse magazine; so who knows if the two became best buddies. I'm not discrediting that it will be a bad film; it's quickly shot to the top of my "most anticipated" list - where only The Propostion and Superman Returns rest - but I just don't want to be disappointed again. His critiques on the first two entries into the series are spot on, save for the fact that I never get caught up in "confusing aspects" of DePalma's flick; I love it even more each time.

Now, about Giacchino's score, Harry's comments on that really made me giddy. I just can't freaking wait for the thing.

Ehhh, all of Harry Knowles reliability went out the window when he loved and gushed about the movie "Van Helsing." Although I guess I can still rely on him for scores. He also said that the score for "Abominable" was quite good. I really like Michael Giacchino..can't wait for it to be released.

Knowles is a quote whore. Check out Hollywood Bitchslap, where they refer to him as "Orange Crush". Hilarious stuff.

Yeah, I forgot that Harry loved Van Helsing . . . just like I forgot that the movie even existed.

Well, crazy_score, I'd argue that your opinions on the M:I movies are questionable at best and just plain don't make any sense the rest of the time; all that talk of "challenging plots" is rubbish and you know it. If Harry Knowles thinks M:I is a film hard to understand, or "confusing," whatever, than he's not very bright. I'd have to say that the stories and/or screenplays for both films are ok, but nothing special ... I much prefer the Ronald D. Moore & Brannon Braga take for M:I-2 than I do the mediocre/boring approach that David Koepp and the overrated Robert Towne took for the first film; although the train sequence is exciting, it just doesn't compare to the bikes in number 2.

I'm stoked for number 3. It looks to deliver the goods of M:I-2 and play a little more on the dark side of things—I'm not going to read the AintItCool review, because I'm sure the first three paragraphs deal with Harry and his father and his past experiences with M:I and Tom Cruise and Scientology blah blah blah.

Andrew, what's the Proposition? Personally, I'm excited for Stick It and Superman Returns.

O'Neill, first off, let's not start the whole Mission: Impossible series debate because it will never be settled between us. But the Moore/Braga take on number 2? What are you referring to? You know I'm always down with the Moore/Eicke/Braga love. Second off, it may be the best idea to avoid Knowles review because it is just too glowing; and it lacks any and all negative points (and I know for a fact that this isn't a perfect film). I couldn't stop laughing when you mentioned Harry's uncontrollable desire to always include his father and past experiences in the first paragraph; which is always the longest. Usually, I've become attuned to just skip to the second or third paragraph and start the actual review from there; but lately, Mr. Knowles has found himself an 18-year-old girl who apparently loves him for more than his "fame". So, one could assume where his first paragraphs find their "dedication" at now. Across the Ain't It Cool crowd this girl has recieved the official title of "Yoko".

The Proposition is a little Australian flick getting a wide U.S. release early in the summer. It's written by "Aussie sensation" Nick Cave of the Bad Seeds and directed by his buddy, John Hillcoat. It seems like a bit of an existensial Western and is drawing a lot of comparisons to Peckinpah (HOORAY!), Leone (BRILLIANT!), and Houston and Ford (PERFECT!) and maybe a little Walter Hill (AWESOME!) thrown in for good measure. The cast is mighty fine: Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Danny Houston (John's son and a fine actor is his own right), and Emily Watson. It's easily been my most anticipated since I read an article about it a few months ago in England's Total Film magazine. Anyways, here's a link to the IMBd page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421238/ .

And, Stick It, is among the top titles of the summer. It looks to deliver everything I've ever wanted in a gymnastics motion picture; plus it's written by the team from Bring It On!

I must agree with Nuts_Score about Knowles and the comment about his dad had me laughing as well. You're 100% on the dot about his reviews, he doesn't state negativity mostly, only positiveness. And I would say..skip maybe 6 paragraphs. Half the time I just want to knwo if the movies good..not about his GF/Dad, his opinion about what the movies based on and all that trash. I usually don't read to into his reviews..Cause 50% of the time he's wrong.

Statistics show that 60% of the time he's wrong every time.
