    Well, here are mine.

    1. Rozsa Choral works=Ben Hur, Quo Vadis and King of Kings. This isnt too bad. Some different music and choices here. Orchestra a little weak in places and volume low. Choral work is good. The selections they chose are interesting. Trumpet player had to strain on some cues. Not enough brass in places. Overall though, I like this.

    Ben Hur-very nice
    Quo Vadis-pretty good
King of Kings-interesting selections including a nice Overture-which is the main music for the Sermon on the Mount in the film
Jeffrey Hunter did ok in this part, but in White Feather on AMC the other night he was terrible as an Indian, really miscast, Hugh O Brian was also an Indian, miscast too

2, Herrmann Vol 1 CBS Westerns
    3. Herrmann Vol 2 " " with Moat Farm Murders written for radio originally tracked in lots of TV stuff including Twi Zone episodes. Very nice

    4. To Kill a Mockingbird rerecording, nice
    5. Robe on Varese with that missing crucifixion cue that is so good by Newman
    6. History of Violence-Shore, not too bad
    7. Chronicles of Narnia-pretty good but reminds me some of Deep Blue Sea and Shrek
    8. Sinbad-pretty good
    9. 13 Days by Jones, pretty good
    10. From Hell-Jones, nice little score, very subtle, but good, I like how he put two cues with an old phonograph type of sound including that last cue, very interesting
    11. Loch Ness-nice score.

    And some others. J.

John, do you know if those Rozsa choral pieces are the same as some of the ones on the Prometheus release ("Miklos Rozsa: Film Music Vol. 1")? That's the one I've got. It's got BEN-HUR and KING OF KINGS, but no QUO VADIS. There's also the score to THE POWER on my disc. Anyway, if the choral pieces are the same, it's really nice. Can't remember if there's any orchestral backing on those choral works. I must re-acquant myself with this. I adore this composer.

Graham, these are all newly recorded by Cincinati Pops and Kunzel. The one you are talking about is off those old LPs that were put on CD by Prometheus. This new one is quite good. The stuff on the old Citadel LPs, the Power, Sodom outtakes and the Choral stuff from a Medallion LP that Tony Thomas and his crew did way back then. This one is very good. J.

Hey Craig, you got the Medal of Honor: Frontline used? I've been looking for it but don't want to pay $19 for it. It's a REALLY good score by Giacchino. I have it through the comp but want to buy it but can't seem to find it cheap anywhere.

Bagtatta, I have a list for a few people (from other chat forums) lookin for stuff.
MY PROMISE IS, if I find it for $5 (or whatever...used they go as high as $10) I know ya don't know me from Adam, but, I'll mail it to ya for that price I found it for. Plus shipping if ya live outta country, of course. Just look at my rating on eBay (if it helps...mefisto66)
There're sooooo many 2nd-hand places down here that I go to, it's a music buyer's paradise. There're 13 places around me in Dallas alone I go to that if I don't find what I'm lookin for, I ALWAYS find something surprising. Like The Recruit for $5 (Can someone tell me why this is so expensive on Amazon?)
Right now, I'm huntin for MoH: Underground, beside my list of others...
I mean, if I can find The Recruit, Raiders (exp), The Game, all 3 Batman animated (2x), Muppet Treas Isl, The Shadow, Thunderheart (2x), etc., etc., for $5, I know I'll find some of REEEALLY hard ones I want, before I'd ever go to ebay.
If ya want, I'll look for it for ya...

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (McNeely) $5
Master & Commander (Davies, Golden, Tognetti) $5

And Bagtatta, that MoH was a used copy but in pristine condition. And I already got ya down if I find another.

All of the following CDs are blind buys for me and I won't get to hear them until tomorrow but I picked them all up for a total of $28. The Sam Goody here is going out of business and they cost about $5 a piece, brand new.

    - Destroy All Humans (Various Artist)
    - Stubbs The Zombie (Various Artist)
    - Glory (James Horner)
    - Passion Of The Christ (Debney)
    - and finally The Village (James Newton Howard)

    What a deal.

Never heard the first two...but the rest are all solid listens, IMO. Passion is at times, demanding, but there are some really wonderful moments on CD.

I've heard of Stubbs The Zombie, seen the cd, just never saw the movie. And Destroy All Humans looks like a Mars Attacks-spoof-type of soundtrack to some movie, I believe, that has not been released yet.

    The Shadow (J. Goldsmith) $5
    The Untouchables (E. Morricone) $5

I already own The Shadow...I guess I couldn't pass up that price. Maybe I'll put it up on eBay or somethin....

Stubbs The Zombie and Destroy All Humans are game soundtracks. Stubbs the Zombie is a bunch of bands covering 50's and 60's tracks. Destroy All Humans is a bunch of bands doing Sci-Fi kinda' music. I'm eager to listen to all of them, thanks for the feedback.

Craig, you have the BEST luck with finding these soundtracks. I work in a Coconuts Movie/Music store and we never get anything good in and otherwise there aren't many shops around to pick up used stuff like that.

I'm eager to hear the Passion score seeing how I've never seen the movie. The rest of I've seen..I usually like seeing the movie first. Dunno, weird on my part. Hopefully I'll have some more by the end of the month..

Now that you mention it, I now remember the commercial for Destroy All Humans. I thought that looked like a pretty funny game. I think I'll pick that soundtrack up. I had NO idea Stubbs the Zombie was a game.

Bagtatta, as far as the selection down here, you have no idea!! I had An American Tail 2 and Patriot Games IN MY HANDS, and I don't know WHY i put em down...that was a coupla days ago at a Half Price Books. I know where they are though...I'll pick em later today...
I wish I never found this site...because of you people, my collection has grown with some music I would've never realized was out there. Ya opened my eyes quite a bit more to some really great music.
    Thanks, all!!

Hey Craig. I listened to the Stubbs The Zombie and Destroy All Humans! The Stubbs the Zombie gets a 4/5. It's pretty good..not great but good.

Destroy All Humans! gets about the same. It's a bunch of songs that are either remixed to sound like a sci-fi song or original songs. There is also an instrumental track on it that is nice. I wouldn't reccomend paying $18 for it..I would look for a deal on them. I would've preferred a score of Destroy All Humans but..oh well.

I just bought the OOP 2-CD Commemorative Edition set for Gettysburg by Randy Edelman off ebay for $108.07 (used but in mint condition) shipped. I'll be sending payment on Wednesday when I get money.

I know some of you think that's a lot of money to pay for an OOP score especially used but mint condition. However to ME it's worth the money. It's very hard to get that set.

Hey, Big, as long as your skies are blue when ya get somethin you always wanted, who cares what others think!
Besides, I think we've all paid that much (or more) for somethin we wanted! Didn't need, but, were happy when it completed or filled a hole in our collection of whatever.

You'll have to give us a review for it since none are posted under the selection.
