Independent soundtrack label MovieScore Media will release Brad Sayles’ award winning original score for the New World Pictures drama Echoes of Innocence on March 27, coinciding with the DVD release of the film in the USA on March 28.
This is the third digital soundtrack album produced and released by MovieScore Media. “This is a very beautiful, emotionally strong and engaging original score by a very talented composer who we are very proud to introduce to both soundtrack aficionados and fans of the film itself,” said executive producer Mikael Carlsson.
Echoes of Innocence, directed by Nathan Todd Sims and starring Sara Simmonds (Sexless) and Jake McDorman (Aquamarine, Fox TV’s Qunituplets), won the Platinum Remi Award for Dramatic Feature at WorldFest Houston and Brad Sayles’ music won a Gold Special Jury Award. The film also won the “Best of Festival” award at the Colorado Springs Envoy Film Festival. Additionally, Brad Sayles won the Aurora Awards Gold Award for the score, last year.
In their review of the film, ChristianAnswers.net wrote that “Echoes of Innocence has expertly dealt with a touchy subject using the finest set direction, musical score and the best talent in actors who fit into their roles like a glove.” Frank Wilkins of Reel Reviews wrote that the film is “very well put together, terrifically scored…”.
Featuring strikingly rich performances by The Houston Boychoir under the direction of Carole Nelson, Brad Sayles’ score is a unique and powerful musical accompaniment to the story about a young woman who has visions of Joan of Arc and finds herself torn between the commitment to a long-lost first love and her growing attraction for another man.
Composer Brad Sayles, who is also the chief recording engineer at the National Public Radio affiliate KUHF in Houston, studied at the Michigan State University and the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. He is also a composer of concert music and his piece New England Journey was given its premiere by the Houston Chamber Orchestra in November last year. Echoes of Innocence is his first feature film score.
Echoes of Innocence: Original Motion Picture Score will be available from iTunes on March 27, 2006.
