I all ready asked Peter about this and he gave me permission to post this. Warning: This is a long post!

You know I for one think that the Phantom Menace and Revenge Of The Sith scores to me are the best Star Wars scores in the entire saga. Williams did an out-standing job on both and I loved how Williams incorperated quite a bit of the old themes in ROTS. I really haven't decided which I enjoy the most out of the two scores. All though if I seriously had to choose I think I'd choose The Phantom Menace slightly more over than Revenge Of The Sith.

Like many of you I bought the original soundtrack for The Phantom Menace before the movie came out and same for the Revenge Of The Sith original soundtrack. All though I was disappointed the way how they edited both scores and omitted certain ammount of music, especially for ROTS. I was very happy to learn in 2000 when the Ultimate Edition for TPM came out and bought it right away. For the longest time I really loved the Ultimate Edition for TPM and wasn't bothered by the clunky edits because I wasn't really aware of them. It wasn't until recently that a friend of mine (Cerrabore from jwfan.net) that showed me the 'light' (so to speak) and I realized the clunky edits of the Ultimate Edition for TPM and just cringed each time I heard it.

So I took upon myself and took most the unused material from the various Episode I games and made my own Special Edition of The Phantom Menace. I made sure there was no loops in the score like the Ultimate Edition has and the Battle Of Naboo is how I believe to be in it's original intended version, since most of the Episode I games pointed towards the direction where I edited the music. I also used music from the original soundtrack there is some unused music on that, that was not in the games and on the Ultimate Edition. This sounds to me a hell of a lot better than the Ultimate Edition ever could be. I only wish that Sony released a version similar to this (and the 97' OT SE scores) in the first place. I also made all tracks similar to the 97' Original Trilogy Special Edition scores. The track listings for this will be below.

The Revenge Of The Sith score...again one I really love as stated earlier and as I also stated that I was disappointed with the edits of the original soundtrack how 20-30 seconds of important music was edited out in a lot of the cues, especially at the end of the cue "Anakin's Dark Deeds" with the horns blaring as they did in the film. It hasn't been until recently that some of the recent games (Galaxies: Rage Of The Wookiees, Trials Of Obi-Wan and Battlefront 2) contained quite a lot of unreleased music and sound effects free! I decided upon myself once more to edit an expanded 2-disc set. I figure there's roughly 30-35 minutes of music that is still missing, however there are a lot of good unreleased cues that were not on the OST. One good cue that was omitted at the last minute from the OST that's now available is the real I Am The Senate cue. Even though it's only 90% of the cue but it's better than nothing at all.

Anyhow the track listings for Revenge Of The Sith will be below the Phantom Menace score. A couple of cues will have very light sound effects in the Sith score, however nothing distracting but it was necessary to complete those cues. Keep in mind to not all cues are complete...some are taken directly from the OST.

All of the cues for Episode III have been for the most part relabeled to their original recording cues.

P.S. If anyone wishes to hear one or the other or both of these scores drop me an e-mail (e-mail in profile), and put in the subject line "Star Wars Scores" and specify in the e-mail which one you'd like to listen to or both. Make sure you put what your board name is in the e-mail. IF you do not I will delete the e-mail.

Well instead of creating a new thread for this I decided to go ahead and bump up this old one of mine. You all know me by now and know I hate bumping up old threads but I didn't want to create a duplicate thread of the same subject.

Wow I can't believe it's been 3 years since I posted this. Well since that time a lot of the unused material has surfaced in better quality thanks to Battlefront 2 and The Force Unleashed. Also those two games gave revelation to where some unused bits went and I've since made an update to my Phantom Menace edit.

This is 100% complete now, nothing will be changed it will not be edited again it is totally finished. I don't remember if I included the Mos Espa source cues or not in the last edit but this edit does not have them. As I hate the source cues and as we all know they were done by Williams' son and not by Willimas himself.

This set is in lossless format (flac) and you'll need Flac Frontend to decode the files anyways if any of you are interested in this drop me an email at BigT1981 at gmail dot com and put "The Phantom Menace" in the subject line so I don't delete the email.

Oh and on a small side note more unreleased music from ROTS has surfaced since then too. I've made a complete edit using the unreleased bits and for the remaining music I ripped the rear channels from the German DVD set. That set is still a work in progress so it's not done yet.

Anyhow, here are the track listings for my fully complete and updated Phantom Menace set.
