Jesus... with this many categories, how can anything NOT get nominated?

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. But then again, all these categories really seem half-hearted if the awards was truly aimed at the genre it targets.Where are these:
Soundtrack of the Year (the one soundtrack release that clearly transcends all categories, excels in sales, craftsmanship, relation to the movie, etc.... this could even be split into two, one for song compilation soundtrack and one for score soundtrack)
Song of the Year (like Oscar's Best Song category!)
Best Soundtrack for a Foreign Language Film
Best Package
Best Box Set or Limited Edition Package
Best Album Notes
Achievement in Engineering/Recording
Achievement in Producing
Instead of best television music, it should be split up into 1) best music for a miniseries, movie of the week or special program and 2) best music for a series, and possibly best theme music for a new series. TV is a huge business when it comes to music, and clumping it all into one category is a shame, especially regarding these awards that only focus on soundtrack music.
That would be a cool awards package.

Are you seriously implying that there are only about a hundred scores composed every year???
On the contrary, we will probably add more categories to these awards in the next years to come.

It's a kneejerk reaction. Mine was the same. Most of us aren't used to seeing such a list, and my secondary kneejerk reaction was... "well, there's the list, but then it's woefully short."Nothing wrong with kneejerk reactions, as long as we remain civilized about them and forego the rioting and killing that is always a possibility (uh, cartoons about Mohammed!?).
