Just received this today along with Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift. (I personally think FF3 is the best score to utilize orchestra and rock since Joel Goldsmith's Kull)....I really like Annapolis though! I can't beleive I waited so long to get it.Lots of percussion in comparison to other Tyler scores but also some great thematic melodies.
Its up there with Timeline and Children of Dune as my favorite Tyler score.

Tyler just rocks my world, I have many of his scores, Annapolis is great, Im still trying to get into Tokyo Drift, I do agree I love his interplay of rock with orchestral music.
I just got The 4th Floor in the mail today.

Good early Tyler score, has some interesting moments, if you like creepy stuff you will enjoy this one.
Not a easy listen. But I like it.

Is it just me (I don't post very often, and for that I'm sorry if I missed someone else complaining about this), or did Brian Tyler peak way too early? It seems like he started out pretty strong (I really liked Panic and Frailty), but for the last couple of years, he's been either on autopilot (insert horror movie) or he's been sticking so closely to a temp track that it's a waste of money buying the album (Annapolis). I'd like to hear him get back to things like Panic, which was one of those times I sat up and thought, "Damn, who is this guy?" Anymore, when I'm watching a movie, the music sounds like ANYBODY could've written it, to the point where every horror film score should just say "music composed by Young/Beltrami/Frizzell/Tyler." I wonder how people can even stand buying full albums of this crap anymore.Anyway, track down a copy of Panic, because that's a good one.

I concur with Shaun on this Tyler notice. The only thing of his that's really interested me since Timeline (which itself in only good in stretches due to the never-ending action music) is Constantine - which I still consider to be one of the best scores from last year. I came across the promo release for that score last year and it's one of the few recent ones to get tons of play around my ears. I do, however, think you might be a tad off in the horror comment. While I do believe that Young pioneered what we now get for horror scores, both Tyler and Beltrami have seemed to come in a create their own style. I've become so enamored with Beltrami that I would be able to pick out a score of his from miles away. His horror scores are the only ones worth it these days, as evidenced by his score for the dreadful The Omen remake. Another case of bad movie/good score that seems to pop up too often.

In regards to the comment about Annapolis (and the Greatest Game Ever Played).
It may be that to other people they sound like the temp score, thankfully then that I'm not familiar with the scores that they used for the temp track (I've heard that they sound a lot like some James Horner scores and I just don't own many James Horner cd's) so to me they sound fresh and exciting.
However I do think Brian Tyler wrote really original music for Children of Dune, Paparazzi, Bubba Ho-Tep, and most of his other scores.
