To be honest, the only George Fenton I have is STAGE BEAUTY, which I love. I just ordered DEEP BLUE and hope I like it just as well.

Blue Planet/Deep Blue are both great, as is Ever After. Dangerous Beauty is really good as well. I remember liking Dangerous Liaisons a lot and have to get it on CD, and I think the same goes for The Madness of King George III.

Has Fenton ever written a bad score?

Good question. I don't know much more than what I listed, so I still have a lot to learn there.

Nope; although I don't have much of his work on album, from what I've heard amongst his filmography, the man just might be invincible.

He's written his share of mediocre and predictable scores (strictly for mediocre and predictable films) but I've never heard anything from him that I would consider bad. Actually, I think he's one of the best around. I love everything Marian listed, and I would add The Fisher King to that as well. I'd love to see him on another Gilliam film some time, I think he really nailed that sensibility.
