Due to the fact that my wife is a musician who worked non-stop during the holidays, the Monstrous Movie Music staff (the two of us) are taking some much-needed time off.

We thank all of our fans for their patience, and we're happy to announce that we'll begin taking orders and shipping both of our new MMM releases STARTING Monday, January 9, 2006.

While I know many of you have waited for our CDs for a long time, we'd appreciate it if you could hold off phoning any orders in until this date.

If you want to e-mail orders to us via our web site or mail us orders via our P. O. Box, that's fine, and you are welcome to pay by Paypal, but just know that we won't be sending any e-mail responses to your orders or taking any phone orders from nice human beings like you until January 9, 2006.

But the CDs are all pressed, sound beautiful, and the booklets are gorgeous -- we think they top our previous ones.

We look forward to sharing our releases with you in less than a week.

ANNOUNCING THE TWO NEWEST MONSTROUS MOVIE MUSIC RELEASES!

"MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (and other Ray Harryhausen animation classics)" [MMM-1953] features music from:

"Mighty Joe Young," from 1949 (Roy Webb) [35:44]

"20 Million Miles to Earth," from 1957. (Mischa Bakaleinikoff and Columbia library cues by George Duning, Frederick Hollander, David Diamond, Daniele Amfitheatrof, Max Steiner, David Raksin, and Werner Heymann) [21:07]

"The Animal World," from 1956 (Paul Sawtell) [4:03]

    Bonus track! [:48]

"THIS ISLAND EARTH (and other alien invasion films)" [MMM-1954] features:

The complete score from 1955's "This Island Earth" (Herman Stein, Hans J. Salter, Henry Mancini) [37:42]

1962's "The Day of the Triffids" (Ron Goodwin's semi-rejected score) [20:10]

The Main Title from 1958's "War of the Satellites" (Walter Greene) [1:23]

The Main Title from 1956's "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" (Daniele Amfitheatrof) [:47]

Both CDs contain 40-page liner books loaded with tiny-little headache-inducing photos, never-before-released information that only a few thousand sci-fi/film music nerds care about, and extremely silly humor. And even though each book contains approximately 20,000 words of text (about 129,000 characters, including spaces), we even found enough room to number the pages!

Cost is $18.99 for each CD, and the postage for 1- 3 CDs is $3.75 in the U. S., which includes insurance. Of course, it costs a little more to ship overseas.

Found it on your other site. Thanks. Looking forward to these.

I have all your others so far. My favorites are Them and It Came from Outer Space and Tarantula.

[1/05/05 ADDITION: We are still on vacation, so please don't call until 1/09/05.

To address one concern, there are no immediate plans to have our new CDs carried in any stores or through any soundtrack dealers. While we will eventually make some copies available through those outlets, we have no time-line as to when that might be.

Our shipping is probably as cheap if not cheaper than anybody else's, and it always includes insurance, and we've never had a single dissatisfied customer who has ordered directly from us.]

1/12/05 addendum: My above "probably" was erroneous (or maybe not -- can "probably" ever be wrong?). In any event, I'll change the above to:

"Our shipping is cheaper than most soundtrack dealers' rates, and it always includes insurance, and we've never had a single dissatisfied customer who has ordered directly from us."

Several have asked if these will be in the MM store, so I came here to post the info but I see MMM got to it before me.

The new MMMs will not be in the MM store for the time being, so order away direct from the label.

As for the cheap shipping, I think the MM store still has those numbers beat! But what does it matter if the CDs aren't even available anywhere else....

    Anybody received theirs yet?

Are you really cheaper than $3.75 for three CDs, with insurance? If so, I'll have to change my "pitch!"

    Two CDs = $3.49
    Three CDs = $1.00

    I guess so!
