ANNAPOLIS
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Brian Tyler
James Franco
Tyrese Gibson
Jordana BrewsterWhen he won a coveted admission spot to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, local kid Jake Huard (James Franco) thought all his dreams had come true – but his battle to become the man he wants to be is only just beginning.
Now, uncertain if a regular kid from a poor blue collar family can fit into the Academy’s pressure-cooker atmosphere, and barely making the grade as a Freshman “plebe,” Jake has one last shot at proving he has what it takes to become an officer in an institution that boasts a venerable 137-year history of focused discipline and determined excellence. With nothing left to lose, Jake decides to enter the notoriously fierce Navy boxing competition known as the Brigade Championships — and face off against his arch-nemesis, Midshipman Lt. Cole (TYRESE GIBSON). Everything Jake has ever hoped for stands in the balance: the chance to make his father proud, to validate his Lieutenant’s faith in him, to stand up for his fellow plebes, and most of all, to forge a different future.
The thrilling score for Annapolis was composed by Brian Tyler. It is heroic and inspiring.
Touchstone Pictures opens Annapolis nationwide on January 27.

HOSTEL
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Nathan Barr
Quentin Tarantino presents ...
Written and Directed by Eli Roth
"The scariest American movie in a decade." — Ain't It Cool News
Internationally renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino presents Eli Roth’s HOSTEL, the follow-up to the writer-director’s hit debut, 2002’s CABIN FEVER. More grisly than Roth’s feature bow, HOSTEL is a mixture of many of the most terrifying things about human nature and the world at large, culled from many impossible-but-true stories of human trafficking, international organized crime, and sex tourism. Relentlessly graphic and deeply disturbing, the film is sure to shock even the most hard-core genre fans.
HOSTEL tells the story of two adventurous American college buddies Paxton and Josh who backpack through Europe eager to make quintessentially hazy travel memories with new friend Oli, an Icelander they’ve met along the way.
Paxton and Josh are eventually lured by a fellow traveler to what’s described as a nirvana for American backpackers — a particular hostel in an out-of-the-way Slovakian town stocked with Eastern European women as desperate as they are gorgeous. The two friends arrive and soon easily pair off with exotic beauties Natalya and Svetlana. In fact, too easily…
Initially distracted by the good time they’re having, the two Americans quickly find themselves trapped in an increasingly sinister situation that they will discover is as wide and as deep as the darkest, sickest recess of human nature itself - if they survive.
The film’s evocative score was composed by newcomer Nathan Barr (Cabin Fever, The Dukes of Hazzard). Scored for full symphony orchestra, the music is at turns both beautiful and frightening.
Sony Pictures opens HOSTEL nationwide on January 13.

FUN WITH DICK & JANE
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Theodore Shapiro
Jim Carrey
Téa LeoniIn Columbia Pictures’ holiday comedy Fun with Dick & Jane starring Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni, Dick Harper’s (Carrey) years of hard work finally pay off when he is promoted to vice president at Globodyne, a worldwide leader in the consolidation of media properties.
But after exactly one day in his new job, Globodyne is destroyed by an Enron-like calamity — and he is left holding the bag. Dick’s sudden reversal of fortune has left him little time to set money aside for a rainy day. Now it’s raining buckets as Dick and his loving wife Jane (Leoni), watch in horror as their deluxe suburban home, their luxury cars and their status-conscious friends quickly vanish into thin air.
After playing by the rules and working single-mindedly to build a comfortable life for his family, Dick is utterly unprepared to give up the American dream. Taking a lesson from his corrupt employer, however, Dick hits on a brilliant idea: if stealing was good enough for his boss, then it’s good enough for him.
Using his newfound skills, he and Jane exact hilarious revenge and teach big business a lesson. Theodore Shapiro contributes a rhythmic, fun, romp of a score that is melodic and energetic.
Columbia Pictures opens Fun with Dick & Jane nationwide on December 21.

I disagree. Darkness Falls is a strong effort, even if it was horror. Also Greatest Game Ever Played[Message edited by tjguitar on 12-07-2005]

A release for Theodore Shapiro? I liked his work on "Dodgeball" and the film looks good.

I'm not bashing his horror scores; I own Constantine, Darkness Falls, and Fraility and have some clips from Terror Tract. I'm basically saying he does his best work - outside of horror - in the action/adventure genre. I didn't much care for The Greatest Game Ever Played. That makes me ponder: does Godsend fall into his horror niche? That's another score I am split on whether I like it or not.

His work has impressed me across the board, regardless of the genre.
