For a JNH score CD? That's preposterous!

I like what I hear too. Action sequence reminds me a little bit of Dinosaur, which is fine; I love that score. It is a three hour movie. Why not two CD's?

I hope the rest of the score is more interesting than what I've heard. They sound kinda bland to me.

Maybe if the movie, and soundtrack does well, their will be a deluxe version, or a more music of kong cd release later. sounds good so far though.

I like what I'm hearing so far... pretty sure I'll be buying this one soon after release. Howard can write some big expansive, beautiful music when he has the right movie canvas. This may be one of his best.

I listened to but can't see video on the film clip that was posted hear recently. It did cause me to look for others... my wife likes this Kong/Rex 'battle in the vines' sequence.

And the Hollywood Records releases of his collaborations with M. Night Shyalmalan usually run around 40 minutes and are missing a lot of great cues (how could they not include the main titles from The Village?)

The music used in the "Battle In The Vines" sequence was just a temp track and was from JNH's Dinosaur. Just as an FYI.

They do make a brief mention of the score.

Interesting... Ed has the same "less is more" analysis, and mine was applied to the scenes he applauds the most (avail as TV clips and web downloads). I guess I had better find a way to hear the score before buying. Sigh.

Of course the film needs to be seen in full and appraised accordingly, but I think it might have helped if others had been more able to assist in collaboratively guiding the movie.

In regards to Mr. Douglas' review of Kong and his differences with the pacing of the beginning, did he keep in mind that the original movie takes about an hour before we get any Kong action as well?

As far as his comments on the score, I don't believe I've ever heard a "hokey" or "cookie-cutter" JNH score; but given the amount of time he had to compose versuses what Shore had, it wouldn't surprise me.
