The new Teaser Trailer for Superman Returns is now available online, and it makes great use of John Williams' music (but maybe not the track you expected) http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=4666

And what a return it is! The music of Planet Krypton cue combined with the images gave me goose bumps. It is only a teaser trailer so much cannot be judged by it alone but I really hope Brian Singer pulls it of.

I wasn't moved at all. Every bloody camera move looks like baby's-bottom smooth motion control.I just hope this isn't Bryan Singer's love letter to his lead. Ryan

I hope the movie is going to be good. I am not a huge Superman fan but still I hope the movie is going to be good. It was nice to hear Williams' music used in the trailer though. And it was only a teaser. How can you judge anything by that?

Well who's surprised Ryan? And it's no secret that Bryan Singer is gay, but why be so homophobic when you're in love with The Passion Of The Christ? You're a bloody snob, and if your Batman Begins review is any indication of what's up with your ego, than you're a joke.

Well-nutritioned baby bottoms are not smooth. Dimply, perhaps.

Like Ryan, I wasn't moved much at all. Keep in mind that this is coming from a Superman fan since early childhood. It wasn't much that hasn't already been available to us in the web blogs; Brando's narration, while great, seemed a bit off in editing and I couldn't help but notice it it jumps in mid-sentence. Honestly, there were some great shots; like the field jumping clip and the flight from space to Earth (I also dug that air-borne sun image, with Supes flying through some beautiful clouds, straight out of one of the ealry teaser images a fan made), but the overall feel of the thing was as far from goosebump raising as it gets. Go ahead and call me a fanboy all you want to (I know you will, Sean) but it wasn't what it could have been. The Krypton theme was a good choice though, so kudos to the Warner marketing rep who decided on that. NP> John Ottman's Fantastic Four (***/****)

It looks fine. Remember it's just a teaser, which is part of the reason I think Ryan's remarks are silly, as per his usual self. So their cameras are steady and it's shot digitally—so what? I don't see what's wrong with either. I remember when the first pictures of Superman's new suit were released and everyone went ape over it, going off on dumb tantrums about the size of the "S" on his costume to how the boots look! Please, get a life! And same with the argument that everything looks in control (good!) and that Bryan Singer is gay and making a film because he's so damned in love with the guy who plays Superman; yeah, right, dream on.Andrew I'm a fan, too, but it's just another movie that'll have a kick-ass score to me, and that's it that's all. I think it looked great, and the great marriage of scenes and music leads me to think this trailer was cut by Ottman, just like that great X-Men 2 trailer he had done.

I can recall many teasers that promised something great only to have the movie fall flat on it's face.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that ottman is using williams main title minus the lois lane theme. I'll be interrested in hearing what new variation he'll come up with on the lois theme.

This movie reminds me of a parody like Spy Hard or Airplane! I just can't take it seriously. It's hilarious seeing a guy in blue spandex flying around the sky. There should be a Weather Girls reunion to sing the end credits song.

Dinko! Just because Bryan Singer is gay doesn't mean he's going to use a song like "It's Raining Men" in the end titles!! Your ego is out of control!! You are a bloody snob! Ryan NP: THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST

HAHA! Well you sure are. But thankfully you only seldom post your idiotic thoughts, ala zimmerito. Enjoying Debney ripping off Zimmer and Horner? I still think it's funny that you said I was on a "one man crusade" or "one man quest" (they both sound ridiculous) to end Mel Gibson's gay, sadomasochistic, Christian fundamentalist movie, The Passion of The Christ. (Did you catch "The Passion of The Jew" South Park episode?)

What does Bryan Singer being gay have to do with anything? I am so confused.... But anyway, I didn't really think the trailer did much for me, but like Incanus said, it's just a teaser.Clayton NP>Veronica Guerin

Starting tomorrow and finishing on Friday, Superman Returns is filming at the very building where I go to Uni. I wasn't planning on being an onlooker, but seeing as I'll be there tomorrow I might hang my head or other body parts out of a window and get famous.I have a feeling its going to be an inconvenience as far as driving, parking and eating lunch goes. *sigh* [Message edited by Richard on 11-19-2005]

Actually it was exactly what I had expected. I even imagined Brando's monolouge over it. It just didn't show me what I had expected. But its still a good teaser.

Sean, once again your stupidity is made all the more obvious by your mouth's eagerness to open up like a whore's dirty thighs. Ryan

"..a whores dirty thighs." To keep things equal, ..."like a male whore unzipping his dirty zipper." Well, I hope Superman is a good movie. I don't envy anyone following Chistopher Reeves. Even his "nerd" persona was wonderful. And I wouldn't want to follow Williams' score either. NP Loch Ness
