    If you want to be limited to the music that is officially released that is fine, but you shouldn't expect others to be. Its no different than trading bootlegs of concerts. The record companies probably don't like it, but many bands don't care.

    I don't think anyone is saying that, just don't delude yourself into thinking it isn't illegal. It is.

    The question is really is it immoral?

    My answer is that it depends on your intent and what you do once a legit copy that rewards the artist is available.

    I agree with everyone you said. I never claimed that it wasn't illegal, at least I didn't intend to.

    What I said was that purchasing bootlegs isn't any more legal than distributing them freely.
