Hi, folks...I stumbled on this in a search for...something...even I'm not sure what I was looking for, now... At any rate, the soundclips on this site are great...I don't think I've come across the name Steve Burke before, but who knows? No, seriously--who knows? Anyone heard of him before?Game Soundtrack - Kameo - Elements of Power

While we're on the topic of video game scores, I just got done playing the demo of a new PlayStation 2 game entitled Indigo Prophecy; and the score is very good, very haunting stuff. Throughout the opening cutscene/main titles I kept telling myself that it sounded like a Angelo Badalamenti score; and as hell would have it, his name appeared under the title "Music by". I was thrilled! Here's a link to the game's official site: http://www.atari.com/indigo/ .
The game is also one that stands out. Just from the demo alone I can tell it's going to be quite a different experience. It's very cinematic. Fans of suspense and supernatural films will eat it up.

Thanks for the link on Kameo, Lancelot; I think I'll definitely be getting this one. By the way, regarding Mr. Burke, in case you haven't already found it, if you click on "Personnel" at the Kameo website whose link you posted, you'll get a brief autobiographical sketch.

Wow...thanks Lancelot. That's impressive stuff.Video games continue to impress (after Advent Rising, Jade Empire, and Fable) I am glad to see the music getting more serious treatment.
Hopefull Burke will be able to break into film...this material alone would hold its own against most film scores.

It's entertaining enough for sure, but to be honest, most of it is overly simplistic and a bit clichéed. Granted, I've only heard the sound clips on that site, but I think they give a decent overall impression of the score. Falls in the "guilty pleasure" category for me (although I'm not really fond of that term to begin with).NP: "On Air" (Alan Parsons)
