Ennio Morricone: The Last Of The Titans
For four and a half decades Ennio Morricone has produced seminal work for film. He has notched up a phenomenal tally of film projects to his name which eclipses the output of everyone else's favourite movie composers. In November he will be 77 yet he is still slaving away in his study in Rome producing top-grade scores. Although he has worked primarily for the Italian market, scoring for hit movies such as The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Once Upon A Time In The West, Cinema Paradiso and The Battle Of Algiers, Morricone has also been employed by some of Hollywood's major names and his credits include The Mission, The Thing, Wolf, Days Of Heaven, In The Line Of Fire, Disclosure, U-Turn and The Untouchables.
Ben Horace spent 18 months researching his profile on the film music legend. The result is a page-turning epic!
In addition to the profile: A Man To Respect Ben Horace speaks to a number of pioneering Morricone collectors and others who have brought The Maestro's work to a larger audience. The Ennio Morricone Buyers Guide Looking to start collecting Morricone, but don't know where to begin? Roy Donga offers his advice to the aspiring Morricone collector.
