- Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Julian Nott)
- A Nightmare on Elm Street (Charles Bernstein)

___THE OMEN TRILOGY
Music Composed by Jerry Goldsmith
3 CDs at special low price.
Together for the first time, all three of Jerry Goldsmith’s Omen scores are now available in this special 3-CD boxed set. The most iconic trilogy of horrific film music of all time, Jerry Goldsmith’s Academy Award-winning scores for the Omen films (The Omen, Damien: Omen II, The Final Conflict)have been giving people nightmares for almost 30 years now.
The story is well known. When Kathy Thorn (Lee Remick) gives birth to a stillborn baby, her husband Robert (Gregory Peck) shields her from the devastating truth and substitutes an orphaned infant for their own — unaware of the child’s satanic origins. William Holden and Lee Grant starred in the sequel, Damien: Omen II and Sam Neill took on the role of Damien for the climactic third film, The Final Conflict.
Included in the boxed set are the Deluxe Editions of all three scores, containing expanded editions of all three soundtracks and featuring remastered sound. Each CD also features extensive liner notes and a full-color booklet with photos from the films.
Featuring some of Jerry Goldsmith’s most remarkable music, bringing together all three Omen scores for the first time is a major film music event.
The Omen Trilogy is a must-have for horror, and Jerry Goldsmith fans alike.

___WALLACE AND GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Julian Nott
It’s ‘vege-mania’ in Wallace and Gromit’s neighborhood, and our two enterprising chums are cashing in with their humane pest-control outfit, “Anti-Pesto.” With only days to go before the annual Giant Vegetable Competition, business is booming, but Wallace & Gromit are finding out that running a “humane” pest control outfit has its drawbacks as their West Wallaby Street home fills to the brim with captive rabbits. Suddenly, a huge, mysterious, veg-ravaging “beast” begins attacking the town’s sacred vegetable plots at night, and the competition hostess, Lady Tottington, commissions Anti-Pesto to catch it and save the day. Lying in wait, however, is Lady Tottington’s snobby suitor, Victor Quartermaine, who’d rather shoot the beast and secure the position of local hero — not to mention Lady Tottingon’s hand in marriage. With the fate of the competition in the balance, Lady Tottington is eventually forced to allow Victor to hunt down the vegetable chomping marauder. Little does she know that Victor’s real intent could have dire consequences for her ... and our two heroes.
Having previously scored the Academy Award-winning Wallace and Gromit short films A Close Shave (1995) and The Wrong Trousers (1993), composer Julian Nott returns with a wondrous and energetic score for orchestra and choir.
DreamWorks Animation opens Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit nationwide on October 7.

___A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Charles Bernstein
Written and directed by Wes Craven and starring Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, A Nightmare on Elm Street remains an innovative and shocking horror-fantasy classic. In the dreams of his victims, a specteral child murderer stalks the children of the members of the lynch mob that killed him. Robert England’s Freddy Krueger went on to infamy in six sequels, but it’s this original that is responsible for more nightmares than any other.
The terrifying score by Charles Bernstein is as memorable and frightening as John Carpenter’s classic Halloween.
Out of print for many years, A Nightmare On Elm Street returns at a special reduced price.

___THE FLY • THE FLY II
Original Motion Picture SoundtracksMusic Composed by Howard Shore
Music Composed by Christopher Young2 CDs at a special low price!
On October 4, Twentieth Century Fox will release new, special edition DVDs of both THE FLY and THE FLY II. One week later, Varèse Sarabande will release a new, specially-priced 2-CD set which will include the soundtracks from both films, together, for the first time. Both films feature epic symphonic scores by acclaimed composers. The score for THE FLY is a powerful, early work by the three-time Academy Award-winning composer of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Howard Shore. For the sequel, horror master Christopher Young delivered a grand and sweeping work.
Two horror classics return, just in time for Halloween.
THE FLY: David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of the science fiction classic about a scientist who accidentally swaps body parts with a fly is both smart and terrifying. Jeff Goldblum gives a masterful performance as a sweet, nerdy scientist whose romance with a writer (Geena Davis) makes him more fully alive. Next thing you know, a tiny oversight in an experiment causes him to transmogrify, gradually, into something more like an insect than a human. This is one of Cronenberg’s best films and certainly one of the important movies of the 1980s.
THE FLY II: Chris Walas, the effects whiz who turned Jeff Goldblum into the gooey, grotesque Brundle-Fly in David Cronenberg’s THE FLY, makes his directorial debut in this sequel. Eric Stoltz is Brundle’s genetically diseased offspring, a boy genius brought up in an experimental laboratory by a nefarious foster father eager to see what his inevitable metamorphosis will bring. Daphne Zuniga is his sweet young girlfriend, and John Getz reprises his role from the first film as a bitter alcoholic.

So then, if Nott wrote the score, then what's this all about: http://www.filmfocus.co.uk/newsdetail.asp?NewsID=343 ?

Excellent news about the Fly 2-CD set. I don't have either of those scores, but I've been interested in them, especially Young's.

Zimmer is "producing" the score.

I have Shore's score to The Fly but I guess this will be a straight re-issue with no remastering, which it could really use.

SureConan and Close Encounters comes to mind.
Although CETK was a straight re-release of the MCA Disc.
The George Delerue Great Composer 2 CD set is a repacking of the Delerue London Sessions which was originally 3 CDS.
Technically, anything that they go back to press on that they have sold out of could be considered OOP, but I take your meaning.

Has anyone checked to see if Varese is releasing the same # of tracks they included on the original release of THE FLY? As I recall, Volcano Records released a disc of THE FLY/THE FLY II and it was missing the additional tracks Varese added to their original CD release.
