So, is this going to be released? It's Steve Jablonsky's first major solo project and I am curious how he did.

Steamboy? Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Those weren't Jablonsky's first major solo projects?

Well Texas Chainsaw Massacre was more of a restrained Jablonsky score. He just had to add tension to the movie and not have any real thematic stuff. As for Steamboy, that probably wont be the hit The Island will be.

I didn't forget Amityville. And oh the horror is right on that one. But the reason I didn't mention that one is cuz aside from a few cues for the family, it wasn't as thematic or large, just like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as I expect The Island to be. Amityville consisted of a lot of tension building cues.

So, if the island is a bomb, we can keep hoping for Steve Jablonsky's first major solo project?

    Super.

I like the guy's music--I really do. Even if I can't listen to his horror stuff. I used a piece of his music from "Steamboy" in my (non-profit student demo!) reel-- viewable here: http://www.caribbeankangaroo.com/CK%20video1.htm

Well his horror stuff is more just atmospheric stuff. Kinda like Harry Gregson-Williams' Phone Booth. Amityville had some real themes for the family stuff, but other than that it was more just to back up the picture.
