How good is the LXG score? I saw the movie a while back and thought that parts of it sounded really good. The mix was bad though. I was listening to Dark City and found myself diggin' all the action part in it. I figure that LXG might be a step up from DC.....

It took a while, a long while, to finally lay my hands on this scarce LXG cd. And when I finally got it, I loved it.
The movie may have been sub-par, but Trevor Jones' score, I thought, was perfect. And very different from Dark City (which is great also). You'll hear it when you listen to tracks that set it apart from Jones' other scores, like "Promenade by the Sea", a female period-piece vocal.
There're a coupla Ladysmith Black Mambazo tracks (to back up the Allan Quartermain character) that aren't bad, but, the score is very good.

I would call LXG a step down from Dark City rather than a step up. Not that it's bad, exactly ... in a reflection of the film, it just gets sort of loud and tedious and uninteresting after a while. DC is shorter, but richer and more compelling.

there are a couple nifty tracks on LXG, including the main title.

Dark City is awesome, especially that last track, but I also love LXG.
