/me is graduating for my masters degree on Friday, June 3rd.I have a "pre-program"... It's a slide show that has my graduating title and the day's program overview. It cycles at 30 seconds.
I need some musical undertone for that pre-presentation....As I love Jerry Goldsmith I browsed through my extensive collection and could not find a track that is not overly obtrusive, but rather moody and not too emotional...
I need something along the lines of George Fenton's Deep Blue, track 17 or track 4 from his blue planet disc.
Need something Goldsmith....
It's my way of honoring him.
Low key (that is hard with a Goldsmith ey?)
non-brassy/2-3 strings and cello...Any help appreciated... suggestions?
I can't possibly listen to over 200 scores.. Okay I have eliminated the Star Treks and Rambo's and Executive Decision and so :-)

Some of the more quiet stuff from The Omen? Something from Powder? Twilight Zone? Or for more mysterious music, what about Hollow Man or The Haunting?Or why not The Mountain from Trek V!?
NP: The Adventures of Robin Hood (Erich Wolfgang Korngold)

For a moment I thought the subject heading was referring to the latest promotional CD from Gorfaine-Schwartz. I just received the press release.GSA proudly presents: Music for Powerpoint Presentation.
How many times have you been left embarrassed when your important presentation to your superiors has been left wanting because of a lack of exciting musical accompaniment? Fear not - help is at hand with the new album "Music for Powerpoint Presentation", featuring music composed by Hollywood's finest composers. Said project overseer, Oscar nominee Hans Zimmer: "This is the sort of project any composer would dream of working on. Because I was only able to utilise seventeen co-composers for my twelve-minute score for Madagascar, it also gave me the ideal opportunity to keep them in gainful employment."
Please note that the previously-announced album "Music for Outlook Express", featuring dynamic original music composed by Brian Tyler, is currently being improved by Klaus Badelt, who is carefully filtering out any sign of compositional flair and replacing it with synth overlays which were designed by his pet cat.
"Music for Powerpoint presentation" full credits:
Music composed by Gavin Greenaway.
Additional music composed by Nick Glennie-Smith, Ramin Djawadi, Jim Dooley, Blake Neely and Rupert Gregson-Williams.
Featured vocalist: Lisa Gerrard.
Electric cello: Martin Tillman.Tracklisting:
1. Title
2. Background
3. Swoosh from the left or the right?
4. Dissolve
5. Variation on a theme by Wagner*
6. Rifkin's horrendous demise**
7. Variation on a theme by Holst*
8. Finale / The Curtain Closes
9. Variation on a theme by Morricone**Originally featured in the motion picture score "Gladiator" composed by Hans Zimmer, Lisa Gerrard and Klaus Badelt

On a similar note, my girlfriend just took part in the IOC's 'Games of the Small Nations of Europe' and picked up a gold medal (swimming), I was thinking of putting together all the newspapers cutting and photos into a nice presentation as a little souvenir, and need some 'Olympic' sounding music. The best I found so far is 'Ray's Theme' from Steamboy. I have the Summon the Heroes CD but it's not exactly what I'm after... and ideas?
