I have some crude tapes of some of these from years ago, but I went and listened to these over at Varese. That Goldsmith score is really good. Great stuff.

    All look good. J.

    Michael,

Just for your imformation, what do Alien Nation and Timeline have in common? Both films received complete score by Jerry Goldsmith. Both films were then severely re-edited, making most of the music unusuable due to the new timing of the scenes. Goldsmith was already involved in OTHER projects by this time and didn't want to start from scratch on a film he had already scored.

That's the good reason you are talking about and thank goodness a legit, excellent sounding release of this score is now available.

    Thanks Varese!!!

Come now, Joe... Michael is a legitimate stockholder in Varese Sarabande and holds a position on its board of directors. Surely, if anyone has earned the right to complain about these new Club titles, is it not Michael!?! Oh, wait... He isn't a stockholder and has nothing invested in these releases at all. My bad...

Now I know I've said plenty of stupid things on this message board but that has to be one of the silliest comments posted on a message board.

Some of you people really crack me up.

If it weren't for Varese we wouldn't have half of the soundtracks that are available.

I won't be buying them, as the scores don't interest me. For those that want them...ENJOY!

Hallelujah Trail is absolutely wonderful. You get at least four to five top notch amazing themes from Elmer including a great chorus rendition of the main theme. It is REAL music. Stripes also has several infectious, delightful themes. Both are a great way to introduce newbies to Elmer's amazing rhythms and themes.
