Yes,i had the luck.
well..the score its a diferent thing from i expected.
Very people will be disapointed with the Harry's vision for this film.
I was very disapointed too,and i have to say this score is not the kind of score i enoy like a child.
its far from gladiator.
this score is growing into me,but i still think lacks emotion and feeling.
Its good,a very good score.Complex, and very hard job for harry. Is more valored than enjoyed ,i think.
Some cues are really amazing.
But the chorus and vocals are, generally without theme and very "cold".
I like Better man or wall treached, because feteaures some amazing vocals and great orchestra action piece.
Best tracks:
-A new world(main theme)
rise a knight(heroic main theme, something like Spy game theme)
-Ibelin(easy to listen,beautyfull track)
-Coronation(i think the only moving vocals from whole score)
-battle of kerak(Amazing,but not perfect)
-terms(furios musulman chorus)
-wall breached(the first minutes are the best from whole score, and the best minut of the year)
-the better man(the same about wall treached)
the pilagram road.(ethcnic, main theme, and action piece)Its very good score, with amazing moments,but...i this score not make me cry or not make me jump to my chair.

Why would you expect it to sound like Gladiator? Thats not fair to Gregson-Williams.But anyway...if you actually do live in Southern California (even though your profile states you're in Spain) what store did you find the CD at?

Tim, I saw it at the local Tower Records. I passed on it because of the ridiculous price. I'm going to check out Helmart in a bit and see if they have it.

Um, whatever!
This topic isn't about downloading music, ghost-writting or even any elses opinion of the score.I've jus been having a tough time finding it, and am surprised that every store here doesn't even have any record of its existence, whether through a online database or printed catalog. I've never seen that happen before. And I wanted to know if anyone else in my area had the same problem.
I'm actually in the San Diego area, Chula Vista, CA.posted 04-26-2005 05:01 PM PT (US)

Southall you are not a cynic and you are not a bad imformation guy.
I'm sure you know, nobody from Kingdom score was in gladiator score.
harry composed ,conducted and orchestrated kingdom and he didn't anything in gladiator.
Steve barton compose aditonal music for kingdom and he didn't compose anything in gladiator.
The comparations are obvius.Ridley scott epic movie.
and..Tim.Maybe the score is out of sale. Many people is waiting for this score.
I wrotte my modest review.very good tecnycally but without feeling or emotion, except for some cues.
Dramatic theme for Spy game is far more moving than whole score for kingdom (Modest opinion)
Np:Passon of christ(perfect score to begind to the end)

Tim, several customers ordered this CD from MovieMusic last week and received it on Monday before the release date. This is always an option if spending an extra $ or two is worth the trouble.

Woohoo Peter! Even though I ordered it from the store here, I still checked to see if any place around here had it and no place did. I don't think very many places are stocking up on scores anymore, and if they do, they have them about 2-3 months after the release date.

NP>Kingdom of Heaven (Can't get enough of this score! And Zimmerito, maybe this score will be more emotional in the film it's meant for)

I went to Wal Mart yesterday and they had an unusually stupid amount of copies available.
The score is interesting. It doesn't sound like Harry at all which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
The good thing is that it's a heavenly sounding score. Lots of choral passages, interesting action cues with equally interesting motifs and themes (albeit subtle and very layered). The thematic material take a longer time to be "discovered", but it's nice to hear.
The bad thing is that it sounds a bit like Horner at some point with the rising fortissimo topping off by punctuating percussion in the action cues.
The last track is discouraging to hear since it's so at odd with the rest of the album. I have to listening to it some more to fully appreciate it.
Kingdom is as totally night and day as you could get when compared to Gladiator. Gladiator sounds much more barbaric and emotion than this heavenly and chaotic (at time) score.
Overall, it's a very good album with very good music from a very good composer. 4 1/2 stars for sure. I'll be seeing the movie to see whether it's a great score.
