I'm the only one who don't like braveheart and glory?
Ok.the theme is great in both score. But breaveheart have horrible synth parts and i just like the 2 amazing last tracks. And Glory The theme is too "good feeling" theme, and its too repetitive in whole score.
And..i'm the only one who thinks 4 feathers is one of horner's bests scores in recent years?I think its better than the missing.
    thoughts please...
    Anyone with me?

Hi there, Im with you on this one. I think It is a very moving score by Horner and very mesmerising specialy the spiritual music that uses the vocals of Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a veteran from my country Pakistan. Country to widespread belief that the music is not ethnic to Middle eastern but Indian! This isnt Sudanse or Morrocoan music but music of the Subcontinent-The director is an Indian after all. The vocals are from the Qawali form of music.Qawali is the music of devotion used extensively in Islamic Mysticism in India and Pakistan-that's how the wolrd came to know The Legendary Qawal-Nustrat Fateh Ali Kahn (Late). Rahat is his progeny and namesake to keep this form of music going. So I was over joyed to hear this form creep into orchestral film scoring. Incidently, Shaker Kapoor's Bandit Queen- had a score by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Coming back to the score-I think Horner did a pretty good job melding the orchestra with Rahat's vocals. There is almost an antiphony performance of the two sounds in the score. There is authentic Middle eastern Moroccan or Sudanese music but it is seperate from the Indian -Pakistani Qawali music.

I love the way Horner closes the end title, similar in approach to Aliens, Glory.

    Amer

I wouldn't say this is a great score from Horner but it's certainly a good score.

Thanks for the background into the ethnic / vocal work in the score Amer.

I like this score but I don't like the album that Horner put together. His main theme has a better presentation in the film than it does on the album.

    well...
I arranged the 80 minuts album into a 58 minuts cd.
Arranged in this way its superb.I arranged other horner score in this lengh because 80 minutes is too much.
In titanic for example or troy 80 minutes are no so bad,but in the missing or four feathers i need to arrange for a better listen.
I like 4 feathers because is not so tender score like other hornes efforts. Its more furios(action tracks with agressive orchestra and vocals) and more dramatic love theme(amazing in the end credits)
Its sad, this score have so underscore moments. For this is good arrange o auto-edited the album in your house :P
    I'm simon Rhodes ehehehe

Youre welcome Timmer, BTW, things are pretty cleared up in the north. How about "our expedition" to Basecamp to Mount K2? Any plans?

Rozsa's score for the 1938 film is awesome. If you havent heard it, its on the old RCA classics series. A suite can be heard there. Really good.
