Just saw the trailer. Does anyone have a clue who's scoring this? I'm kinda hoping John Debney get's to do the job. He did a good job for Jon Favreau's Elf after all.

ZATHURA
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by John Debney
From the author of THE POLAR EXPRESS and JUMANJI!
From the director of ELF!
In the heart-racing sci-fi adventure ZATHURA, two squabbling brothers are propelled into deepest, darkest space while playing a mysterious game they discovered in the basement of their old house. On their fantastic journey, they are joined by a stranded astronaut and must survive meteor showers, hostile lizard-like aliens, a rocket-propelled robot run amok and an intergalactic spaceship battle. But their greatest peril lies ahead. For unless they finish the game and reach the planet Zathura, they are doomed to be trapped in outer space forever.
ZATHURA is based on the best-selling book by the acclaimed children’s writer Chris Van Allsburg. The heroic adventure score for ZATHURA was composed by John Debney. Featuring broad, sweeping themes, the film allowed Debney the opportunity of writing one of his grandest symphonic scores.
Sony Pictures opens ZATHURA nationwide on November 11.

http://www.johndebney.com/news.htmlYou can hear a theme from Zathura at the above site. Kind of sounds a little like Cutthroat Island.

Well...considering they are both written by Chris Van Allsburg I would not simply write them film off as a Hollywood ripoff. That being said...there is still a good probability that the film will reek.
Here's hoping for the score. I'm sure Debney has some more Cutthroat Island left in him!
