Does anyone know where I might find a copy of the Varese Sarabande release of the Conan the Barbarian film score?

By the way, when is that 9-disc LOTR film score boxset coming out? haven't heard too much info on it lately.

I tried looking around various sites, but all I could find was the Milan release. Have Varese deleted this title now? What about Colosseum? Maybe they have copies.

The Varese Conan has been out of print for a few years now. The best place to look is probably eBay.

Yeah, the Varese Conan seems to be long out of print. It's worth tracking down, though (the Milan release is only the LP with an additional track at the beginning).

The LOTR box set is supposed to be due late this year.

This would be a nice one to consider as a deluxe edition. I'm sure there is extra music. Does Varese ever read the message boards?

Good question about Varese reading these boards...wish I had the answer

Unfortunately though, Conan is a title from Universal and I dont know if they'd be willing (if history is indicative of anything) to fork over the music and rights to an album. It is a shame though because the Varese album is insanley hard to find for a fair price. It was a long hunt for me. Rivaled only by Indiana Jones/Temple of Doom which eludes me to this day.

There was a rumor awhile back that Poledouris wanted to do a re-recording of the score and a suite for "Destroyer". Oh think of those possibilities

Doom used to be available as a Japanese import. Not anymore?

I saw it the last couple of times I was at the Virgin Megastore in Chicago.

    Oh, really?????

I've been searching for this one forever! Amazon.com has it for about 120-150 dollars and EBay auctions are always gettting sniped.

There were three auctions that I had clinched, then someone came in and upped the bid to at least 60 dollars

Do you remember how much Virgin was selling it for?

It was going for around $35. The Jap imports seem to go quickly, but I haven't been there for a little while, so the chances are the copies have gone. You could also try Tower. They have two stores in Chicago.
