I have the opportunity to buy some scores which are going for $10 Australian (about $8 US) at the moment. Does anyone have any thoughts on the following:AT FIRST SIGHT ISHAM MARK
CONTINUUM JOURNEYS VOYAGE SCHIFRIN LALO
LA CORSA DELL ‘INNOCENTE SILIOTTO CARLO
LAST DAYS OF CHEZ NOUS GRABOWSKY PAUL
INVENTING THE ABBOTS Kamen
LE COLONEL CHABERT SOUNDTRACK
LE HUSSARD PETIT JEAN-CLAUDE
MOLL FLANDERS MANCINA MARK
NOSTRADAMUS PHELOUNG BARRINGTON
PRINCESS CARABOO HARTLEY RICHARD
THE CARDINAL MOROSS JEROME
THE HOUSE OF SPIRITS ZIMMER HANS
WRESTLING ERNEST HEMINGWAY CONVERTINONormally I'd go on the basis of online reviews, but I haven't found many reviews for these titles. Thanks for anyone who can help. Specifically the kind of thing that will help is comparisons with the same composer's other work - e.g. Mark Isham's At First Sight is similar to his score for... etc.

MOLL FLANDERS MANCINA MARK
Nice little score. Lovely melody in the main theme. Two nice rustic jigs for violin - one of them sounds like a Last of the Mohicans inspired cue. Some droning underscore. Extremely small group of players backed by synths. Classical music cues are all good and work well with score (or should that be the other way around?). Solo female (non-operatic) vocals add an interesting touch.NOSTRADAMUS PHELOUNG BARRINGTON
Do avoid it like the plague. I cannot remember a single note from this thing. It didn't even have a minute or two that you could salvage and stick on a compilation. If we had an award for the most generic, bland and unmemorable score ever written, Nostradamus would be a top contender.THE HOUSE OF SPIRITS ZIMMER HANS
Clarinet carries instantly-hummable typical Zimmer theme. If reorchestrated the theme could be used in just about any other Zimmer score. As it is though, it's a bittersweet, melancholic theme which returns a few times. There are some slight hints at action music halfway through. They quickly go away though and we return to the love story. Very little synth or brass presence in this score - winds & strings predominate. Pedro & Blanca starts with the oboe (or the clarinet) then percussion & guitar pick up the oboe theme for what's the only latin-influenced track on the CD. It's no merengue though. It's dark and romantic at the same time, taken at a mid-tempo rythm. The Closting Titles cue is the most positive. It brings a sense of happy ending (one you get passed the archival recording of La Paloma). The Closing Titles sound a little like Nine Months. For the rest, I can't think of other Zimmer scores to compare it to.posted 02-12-2005 08:34 AM PT (US)

Flight of the Innocent is very much worth it, if you enjoyed Fluke or Snowball by Carlo Siliotto. Beautiful innocent music, often countered with darker moments... all of them.Mancina's Moll Flanders is awesome. Hope someday to hear it all done with a symphony orchestra. I think you'd like the Princess Caraboo CD. It's got some neat surprises and totally worth $8.
