I'm seeing Blake Neely's name on all the ads for the upcoming Debra Messing romantic comedy, THE WEDDING DATE.

What happened to Debbie Wiseman's score? Last minute studio insecurity on the project?

Such a shame as Wiseman is one of the more melodic and talented composers working. I was hoping this might be a big break for her here in the U.S.

If you can find a copy, check out ARSENE LUPIN. The CD came out in Europe last year and it VERY exciting.

P.S. Maybe it's good she isn't attached anymore. I have a friend who went to a screening and said the film wasn't good.

Arsene Lupin? How or where does one go about getting that--or is it due for a US release?

I don't see a release date for the film in the U.S.

For more information on the film go to the imdb.com:

As for the wonderful CD by Debbie Wiseman, I got my copy from eBay, but you might find one at Footlight Records site or perhaps one of the other soundtrack specialty sellers.

Music from the Movies lists her as a co-composer, so maybe some of her music is still in the movie.

I got a copy (autographed as well) the night she was in concert last year; very good.

Yes, I managed to get a copy of "Aresene Lupin". It is one of her finest efforts. I even wrote and told her so and she graciously replied with a heartfelt "thanks."

Ok, this is the scuttlebutt I was told about the composer shuffle on this project... Debbie Wiseman did indeed record a score with a large orchestra. Apparently, the producers were not pleased with the final cut of the film and and decided to recut the film without the director's participation. This re-editing necessitated having a new score written for the film and that's where Blake Neely came in.
