Have any other Rozsa devotees got the Film Music Society release? It's gem! but the real jewel is the interview with Dr. Rozsa by Rudy Behlmer, in which the composer reveals himself to be self-deprecating, funny and something of a raconteur!

I haven't gotten this yet, but it's on order. Can you give a listing of the cues and the length of the interview? How are the liner notes and booklet? Who wrote them?
Thanks for letting us know.

Thank you, Ron, and apologies to James. I did'nt ignore your request, James. The company I work for, sometimes send me away, and that's where I've been!

I picked this up. A great score but the original acetates and cues weren't that different from Rozsa'a suite. I guess I was hoping for extra music and wound up with stuff I was already familiar with. He changed a few bars that were set to specific actions but for the most part the suite reflects the cues just as he wrote them for the film. Still, the only 40s version of the suite conducted by Rozsa has Sabu talking all over it and the later recording that was issued on CD (without narration although an LP of the sasme version with narration by Leo Genn was available at one point), while great, isn't a 40s recording with similar sound and playing to these original tracks. If you don't have either of these versions (and even if you do) this is still a welcome cd to pick up and play.
