I remember we had some members in that area of the world, I think, from watching the members map they had made in the site. If not, I hope if any had members of family in that area are okay.

Thanks for the concerns. Fortnately for me Iam in Karachi, Pakistan which lies in the bay area of the Indian subcontinent. My heart goes out for the thousands of people who have lost their lives. I Hope some of our film music fans from Indonesia are A-OK!

Yes thanks for the concerns.. I'm in Jakarta and people here were safe from the quake, but the people in Aceh are still suffering. It's very saddening watching the news.. I hope people from all over the country are willing to continue to support them for months

Actually, I once wondered about you Amer
Thank God we are all safe

I'm fine here in Malaysia (the central part of the peninsular). There were some slight vibrations felt by those who stayed in high rise buildings.

The U.K. government has handed out a measly £15 million to help out in this dissaster...PATHETIC! This same government was quite happy to splash out £5 BILLION on an illegal war in Iraq.

A massive shame on the USA, Saudi Arabia and most of Europe who have handed out nothing more than schrapnel.

I noticed on a news report yesterday in which a couple of women who had managed to make it to an airport in Sri Lanka - without seeing any officials from the British Government. Locals had clothed, fed and watered them in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. Locals again got them to the airport and Government representatives from other European countries (Belgium, I think) were able get them onto a plane out of the country. Obviously, they weren't too complimentary about their own Government's help.

It's a shame how quickly a topic posted out of concern for one's fellow man degenerates into let's bash this or that government.Instead of looking at what everybody else is doing or not doing, maybe individuals should pony up what they can to the various relief organizations. It's far more constructive.

Multitasking is a wonderful skill to have...on the one hand you can comment on any subject AND do your bit to help - without necessarily blowing a trumpet about it?
