So I was browsing Circuit City's Sunday ad, as I always do, and saw they were selling the 2 CD "Phantom of The Opera" for $15.99 and the single CD for $11.99.The funny thing is that they listed it this way:
The Phantom of the Opera/Thomas Newman $11.99
Thomas Newman??? WTF????Boy are they out of it or what?
I did end up going today at lunch to get the CD and found the ONLY 2 CD set they had.
I just opened it here at work and just my luck, the booket looks VERY flimsy. It's almost as if the staples and binding in the book are coming loose from the cover and starting to tear.
I just can't seem to get a break on these 2 CD sets. First "Mary Poppins" and now this.
I miss those bulky Multi-disc jewel cases they used to use.

I missed your complaint about the weather, taxes and teenagers hanging around the shopping mall...Ryan

Circuit City is usually a disappointment to me. The people that work there can never answer a question and I've even gotten into a couple of arguments there over release dates.

Speaking as a bookseller, you can't expect them to know the release date for EVERY item they get, and if they look things up then they're only as good as the information they are given. When it concerns anything but the most high-profile releases, the information they give us at Waldenbooks is wrong at LEAST half the time. Just two days ago I discovered we had in our store two copies of a book which our computer said wasn't being published until March. I expect things are similar in music retail.
Of course, if the clerk is being a jerk about it and insists that they're always right, please do kick them in the pants. I once had an employee at Borders (same company as us) tell me that "as a rule" film scores don't come out until at least two weeks after the film has opened. That kind of ignorance should pummelled.

James, I'm a pretty easy guy to get along with. But when you are asking a question and the salesperson is not being civil, arguments happen. I know more than a little about customer service because I've worked retail myself. You give what you get.

As for Circuit City, yes, they suck quite a bit. I went in there looking for the DVD of Soylent Green and after about 15 minutes of searching, I asked an employee if they had a copy. He looked it up in their inventory which showed that they had two copies, but he said the inventory was often wrong. Two employees helped me search nearly the entire DVD section and we couldn't find a copy of the film. I appreciate the help of these employees, but ultimately the sale went to Borders instead since they didn't have the product.
I think the biggest annoyance about their stores is how they put DVDs on the shelf so that you have to paw through all of them to see what they've got. Best Buy seems to be the only store who can figure out how to put DVDs on the shelf.

Yes. All the trailer music is part of the 2 CD set. Albeit with sound effects/dialog behind it. I believe it is part of the track "Point of No Return" which is the last score/song track on the CD (before the awful new song that Minnie Driver sings).James

Yeah supposedly the Circuit City by me was supposed to have the Star Wars Trilogy box set for the soundtracks which was listed on their site and it wasn't in the store. I had to end up buying them indiviualy. What's funny to I was going to go to Best Buy to get them but the store locator didn't show one here in the Utah Valley. When I went to Circuit City loan and behold they were building a Best Buy right up the street from it. I should have waited, oh well...guess Best Buy will be getting my money from now on.
