24
Original Television Soundtrack

Music Composed by Sean Callery

Kiefer Sutherland

FINALLY! The much anticipated soundtrack for the enormously successful television series 24 is coming!!

SEASON ONE immediately became the most talked-about and acclaimed new series of the year!

SEASON TWO built on the first season, proved even more popular, and both seasons were among the best-selling DVDs of the year!

SEASON THREE debuts on DVD on December 7, the same day as this first ever soundtrack release of the series!

Music from ALL THREE SEASONS is included on this CD!

Jack Bauer, an agent of CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit), is having another one of his “very bad days.” Such a simple idea — yet so fiendishly complex in execution. 24, as surely everyone knows by now, is a thriller that takes place over 24 hours, in 24 one-hour episodes. Everything takes place in real time.

The show is an enormous, award-winning success — including its Emmy Award-winning music!

Sean Callery’s score is both powerful and brooding. Fans of the show have been calling for a soundtrack release since the first season. Finally, in time for the holidays, released along with the THIRD SEASON DVD and in advance of the much-anticipated premiere of SEASON FOUR this January, comes the blockbuster soundtrack from 24!!

CARNIVÀLE
Original Television Soundtrack

Music Composed by Jeff Beal

1934. The Dust Bowl. The last great age of magic. In a time of titanic sandstorms, drought and pestilence — all signs of God’s fury and harbingers of the Apocalypse — the final conflict between good and evil is about to begin. The battle will take place in the Heartland of an empire called America. And when it is over, man will forever trade away wonder for reason.

HBO’s acclaimed new series, CARNIVÀLE follows a traveling carnival as it wends its way across the Dust Bowl, focusing on a mysterious young fugitive with hidden talents who is taken in by the carnival, and on the charismatic, shadowy evangelist who will ultimately cross his path. The 12-episode dramatic series takes place at a time of worldwide unrest, with evil on the rise around the globe and the Great Depression wreaking economic and social havoc here at home.

As they become aware of their abilities, Ben and Brother Justin (Nick Stahl and Clancy Brown) find themselves wrenched from their lives to realize that the world they thought they knew — this tenuous, prosaic reality shared by humankind — is actually a chessboard upon which is played the ancient conflict between Light and Darkness, and they are key players in the battle.

The episodes of CARNIVÀLE were directed by the same talented men responsible for The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Sex and the City and Alias!

The dark, magical score for CARNIVÀLE was composed by Jeff Beal.

SEASON ONE of CARNIVÀLE premieres on DVD December 7!

FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Music Composed by Marco Beltrami

Dennis Quaid

When a C-119 cargo plane full of oil workers crashes in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert during a sandstorm, the survivors attempt to build a new plane from the parts they find in the wreckage. The plane was piloted by Captain Frank Towns, an employee of oil company Geodel, whose job it is to go to remote oil rigs and shut them down when their productivity has decreased. Having accomplished his job with one such rig, his plane crashes with all of the employees aboard on the way back to Beijing. Can they survive the heat, the sand, and each other long enough to get it airborne?

Dennis Quaid stars in this thrilling remake of the 1965 classic film that starred James Stewart and Richard Attenborough.

This score for the new film, by Marco Beltrami, is both exotic and exciting.

Twentieth Century Fox opens FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX as a major holiday release on December 22.

While those all sound exciting (I know there have been a lot of requests for "24" on CD), I'm kind of surprised that "Flight of the Phoenix" is the only major feature film score Varese has coming for the holiday season.

I guess I had my hopes up that they'd do a score CD for "Shrek 2," in conjuction with the DVD release, as well as some other major Christmas releases.

I'm just hoping we see score releases for a lot of the Oscar contender, Christmas release films.

I stopped watching "24" 3 hours before the end of the first season when Kimberly got kidnapped for like the 5th time that day. I just didn't care anymore. It was lame.

I enjoy "Alias" and "Lost" much more.

You missed out. And I stand by the show. Check out the DVDs and you'll see what you've been missing. (Nip/Tuck too)

You're just one of those Anti-24 people who likes to camp out with JJ

--Brian

PS: True, Kim got taken a lot and it kind of got lame, BUT, the Drazens wanted her to keep Jack in their field...I mean duh. Season 2 and 3 were fantastic.

I was thinking of that the other night. So sad that nothing seems to be happening for Harry's buoyant score.

Brian's right...you really did miss out. The final episode of the first season is by the best hour of television I have ever watched.

Nothing against Alias and Lost (both fairly good shows)...but they can't hold a candle to the emotional impact that 24 continues to deliver.

I'm glad to hear the music is finally getting a release...there are some specific cues that have been etched into my mind that I hope make it onto the release.

I don't need a "Zak Attack" to tell me I did something wrong. In the end, I got real tired for "24" and it's format.

I'm not missing it.

I did catch a "MadTV" spoof of it and that WAS good.

Do we have to like Alias OR 24? Can't we like both? I'm a big J.J. Abrams junkie and enjoy both of his shows. I like what I've seen of 24 but couldn't keep up with it because of Life. I will get caught up with it when I can, though. I like the vimmin on that show. They are purty.

I'm with BMikeJ - I like both shows (although what I've seen of Alias S3 is better than 24 S3 - only my opinion, mind) and I don't see why you can't be a fan of both.

Ummm...Zak Attack...huh?

Sorry James, I wasn't try to criticize anyone. I didn't realize I had become nasty enough to warrant a disparaging code name. Unless I am mistaken, I believe I said that Alias is a pretty good show.

Take a deep breath my friend.

Quilly...AKA Zak,

Please note smiley in my reply. I was making a joke when I said "Zak Attack."

Sorry James...tad touchy I guess. Flashback to the good ole Zak..he's a lego maniac days....grrrr....

Not to belabor the point, but you should give the show another chance. The first half of season 2 was excellent (outside of the "Kim caught in a cougar trap" plot point), and the last 8 hours or so of season 3 were great stretches.

DVD works quite well for this show.

24, for what it is, was very good. The first season was an excellent concept, very well executed, even if the constant Kim kidnapping became a little tiresome. (This was somewhat alleviated by the fact that she had nice breasts.)

The second season was a bit ridiculous, but still hugely entertaining.

The third was just crap, absolute crap. They should have stopped after two. (Of course, it'll probably go on for another few years, but unless done with a completely different cast and a completely different plot it's run its course already.)

Rumor has it that this is the last season. While I love the series, I think this should be its last season...end it on a good note.
