I can't believe I missed this, I was going to write this post two days ago.September 22nd, 1994 marks the birth of my CD collection. Earlier that year, I had first heard music from Star Wars, and on that day, I finally went out and bought my first CD, The Star Wars Trilogy (as performed by the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra). In retrospect, that summer didn't only radically change my taste in music, but it also made me watch movies like the SW and Indy trilogies and ultimately made me a fan of film scores, classical music and movies in general. In the end, it even influenced my book collection, since what finally made me start reading the Harry Potter novels was the announcement that Williams would write the score for the first movie.
Ten years, approximately 900 CDs and slightly over 100 DVDs later, I have no intent to stop.

Happy Birthday Marian's Cd Collection!!!
My colection is going to make 7 years on 2nd of February 2005,since i bought Carter Burwell's Rob Roy,on 2nd of February of 1998.Before that i had about 100 tapes with music recorded direct from the movies with sfx and all, plus all the end credits and main titles i could find, even from movies i didn't had...I miss those days when i recorded full VHS tapes with end titles, just to record the music...
Now i have about 1000 cd's and 30 or 40 DVD's,and still have about 400 VHS tapes...
Again Happy Birthday...

Actually had to think hard for this, but my cd-collection started in August 1987. First thing i bought was 'Hysteria' by Def Leppard, who was just released.
Second CD was already to replace an LP i had, Jerry Goldsmith's 'Runaway'.
17 years later, approx. 2200 (700 filmscores) CD's and no signs of slowing down. How time flies.Happy birthday to your CD collection Marian

That's close to 2 CDs each week...frightening. Well, to compensate, I've bought exactly one CD in the past two months or so.

Happy birthday there...Mine's going on 14 years this December 23rd, but don't recall what I bought or even if I still have it. One thing is for sure, it wasn't a soundtrack. I didn't start my collection of those until 1992!
