I am looking for some good action scores from Barry. I don't like the lounge music that is found in some of the James Bond scores. I really like Barry's scores to "The Living Daylights," "The Black Hole," and Mercury Rising."

You know that Carter Burwell provided much of the action music in Mercury Rising?

    Try hunting down Burwell. ;-)

Some of his best action music happens to be in those James Bond scores! Have you heard On Her Majesty's Secret Service yet? It's a rather cheap album, and you should be able to find it for $12 or less. Make sure you pick up the new version which has 21 tracks.

Yep! cheap in price but not in content!

OHMSS isn't just a great Bond score it's one of THE great scores.

Some superb action music can also be found in the expanded Thunderball (just check out 'Street Chase'), You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever, most Bond scores contain the obligatory lounge music (which I personally like ), but you can always program these out.

I also think A View To A Kill is one of the more underrated Bond scores.

Yes, I would have to second ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE as a great pick. I like A VIEW TO A KILL and love THUNDERBALL and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. In a similar style are THE SPECIALIST and even the more medeival THE LAST VALLEY and ROBIN AND MARIAN.

Thanks guys!! I like some of the music from the Bond scores (except for the lounge music). I'm sad to learn that most of the music to Mercury Rising is by Burwell. I don't own the score but am not a Burwell fan. I do remember a few cues but they were obviously by Barry.

I'll contribute my vote for OHMSS and add ZULU for some additional action music. I remember that DANCES WITH WOLVES also had some good stuff.

Some on this board have prasied RAISE THE TITANIC. I've been unsuccessful at finding a copy.
