Good to see Chris back in his most sucsessfull genre. Itīs always a pleasure to hear his horror scores. I hope that we can expect a release of the music. Just to hunt ebay for all his promos becomes more and more annoying!

This reminds me of that whole HARD RAIN situation where Chris wasn't allowed to use the track titles he originally selected for the OST... So he went with "The Cow", "The Church", etc. The guy is demented! In a good way.Ryan

Not really familiar with Chris Young- but doesn't mean it's too late for me to start appreciating his stuff... would like to make one slight, oh so subtle observation though.... This movie, the grudge-LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE RING! The similarities are eerie. I wonder if a court battle over copyright enfrignment could follow the release of this movie... oh goodie!

I'm going through a Young phase at the moment, just can't stop listening to the man's brilliant music (especially HAUNTED SUMMER, HIDER IN THE HOUSE and THE DARK HALF - really wonderful, evocative stuff). Looking forward very much to this new one - from the credits on the back of the CD it looks to be more electronic than orchestral.?

Just got back from the grudge, a pretty good movie that scared the hell out of me. It gets confusing from time to time due to flash back sequences, but is a very good halloween movie to go to. Personally I liked it better than the ring. As far as the score goes I will probably get it when it comes out, from what I heard of it, it was pretty good as well.
I cant give a really detailed review of the score because I got into the visuals, and atmosphere of the movie too much. Anyway their were a few parts that stuckout as far as the score goes, and it did its job in helping with the tone of the movie.

Music from the Movies is back, with an excellent interview with Chris Young on his work for "The Grudge":

I was impressed by THE GRUDGE as well. A few jolts that got even myself, someone who never falls for jump scares.I liked Christopher Young's all orchestral score -- it's subtle and inobtrusive. I'm not sure how well it will play on album because the film affords few opportunities for Young to whip out his trademark percussion "tickety-tickety-tickety-tick-tick-tick" (and repeat) suspense and action scoring.
