    The Chicago Symphony Orchestra just announced their "Friday Night at the Movies" series, three concerts including:

    Has Daniel Barenboim ever conducted film music that might not be by either Lenny or Copland or Prokofiev?

    Marian, are you thinking of Chaplin's Modern Times which involved Raksin, or am I really confused?

    The closest thing I know of is when I attended the premiere of a new work by Lalo Schifrin, which the CSO commissioned, called Fantasy for Screenplay and Orchestra. Barenboim introduced it as "a film score for a film which doesn't exist." It was pretty good, if a little generic. I met Schifrin afterwards and got his autograph, so that was fun.
