Varese will release Jeff Danna's Resident Evil score + Brian Tyler's Final Cut.Add to that a big surprise: Patrick Williams' The Cutting Edge. It's been over ten years since I saw the film, but I remember that the score was very uplifting. Patrick Williams is a very underrated composer...

Thanks for the tip Mikael. Here's what's on Varese's site:
THE FINAL CUT
Original Motion Picture SoundtrackMusic Composed by Brian Tyler
Robin Williams
Mira Sorvino
Jim CaviezelA Zoë Chip is placed in your brain at birth to record your entire life. When you die, the footage from your life is edited into a “Rememory”— a film shown at your funeral pieced together by an editor. A toy for the privileged, Zoë Chips are changing the face of human interaction, but there are those who are against this emerging technology, and believe that memories are meant to fade.
Alan Hackman (Robin Williams) is the best “cutter” in the business. His ability to grant the corrupt absolution of the sins of his clients has put him in high demand. However, his talent for viewing life without emotion has shaped him into a cold distant man and has made him unable to experience life in the first person. He believes he is a “sin eater” and his work provides him with the ability to absolve the dead of their sins.
While cutting a Rememory for a high-powered colleague, Alan discovers an image from his childhood that has haunted him his entire life. This discovery leads him on a high intensity search for truth and redemption.
The film’s fascinating, inventive and compelling score is by Brian Tyler.
Lions Gate Films opens THE FINAL CUT on September 24.

RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE
Original Motion Picture ScoreMusic Composed by Jeff Danna
A deadly virus has been unleashed on the population of Raccoon City. RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse is a terrifying adventure in survival horror.
Milla Jovovich (5th Element) returns as Alice, one of only two survivors of the contained biochemical disaster in the first Resident Evil, the $100 million hit that serves as a prologue to the all-out action and horror of RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse.
The film begins where the first film left off, with Alice in the heart of the ravaged and deadly Raccoon City. She has been subjected to biogenetic experimentation by the vast Umbrella Corporation and become genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.
ALICE is joined by Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory – Time Machine, Helen of Troy), a recently demoted member of Umbrella Corp’s elite Special Tactics and Rescue Services (S.T.A.R.S.) and others who must survive and escape what is quickly becoming a City of the Dead. To reach their goal, they will need to battle their way through the relentless onslaught of the ravenous undead, as well as Umbrella forces and terrifying bioengineered weapons, the most deadly of which is the colossal, heavily armed assassin, NEMESIS.
This dark underworld is musically explored by composer Jeff Danna in this soundtrack that is his first for the science fiction genre.
Sony Pictures’ RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse will open on September 10.

Moira Kelly (Dangerous Beauty, The West Wing) and D. B. It's great to have some of Patrick Williams' score for a change. I just worry that it's mostly the re-issue of the song CD and we'll get shortchanged on the score portions. Also, it'd be nice if Varese tried doing some scores by composers other than Brian Tyler for a change. It seems like he's in every batch of their new releases.

They are releasing Patrick Williams, Jeff Danna, Rachel Portman, and a host of others in the coming month. I'm glad Varese is releasing his score. We were considering it, but Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars and Cellular deals closed first, so we opted out. From what I hear his score to Final Cut is one of the best scores he's composed.MV

I'm all for releasing a variety of work, but there is more than enough to go around.I'm 100% sure that Varese releasing THE FINAL CUT has nothing to do with Varese NOT releasing say... STEPFORD WIVES. So quit being the turd in this punch bowl

Ryan,You've been the constant turd in the punchbowl around here so back off.
I've never said Brian Tyler's work wasn't worth releasing. I just feel it seems Varese is constantly announcing a new release by him.
Just because you have ties to him via a website you run, doesn't mean I'm not entitled to an opinion. So get off my back.
